"This was my second stay at the Elkhorn. The rooms are good sized, really clean and the beds are super comfortable. Will look forward to staying here again next year. "

"Great little Euro type lodging. Right on the banks of the river, easy walking to town, river walk, hot springs, modern fire pit, great patio, even bikes to borrow!! Very clean, well appointed, comfortable bedding. Independent check in/out. Staff availability by phone and text. We loved it. Next visit to Pagosa is a no brainer."
"This is a lovely hotel settled conveniently across from the Cumbres and Toltec railroad station. It’s brand new, but renovated with much of the 1905-1920s features from the old building. Comfortable beds, and lovely updated bathrooms (with soft towels!) Beautiful!
We were lucky to experience their restaurant’s soft opening! Yummy food featuring southwest flavor. The bar is gorgeous and stocked. We took a beautiful walk around the sweet little town of Chama afterward. Highly recommend!"
"This is an attractive property surrounded by gorgeous landscape 360 degrees. There is some remarkable bronze statues and display cases full of incredible Native American pottery. Large comfortable lobby for socializing.
Signage outside the facility and inside is ‘discreet’ (hard to see) so that could be improved.
The desk clerk on our arrival was downcast close to the point of rudeness. The housekeeper on our floor smiled and said hello; she seemed glad to see us and happy in her work.
It was a Monday and the restaurant and bar closed before we got back from an event and that was disappointing but perhaps understandable.
