It is old hotel, some things needs to be renovated. breakfast is in another building, so you have to put winter jacket during winter time. Bed is very good, comfort. Bathroom is old, not nice.

Wonderful location and right into the historical setting of old town Riga. This property is about 900 years old and is good enough for history and cultural buffs. All major historical sites are nearby and accessible by foot.

It was old, of course, and quirky, just a bit gothic. Great location. Staff were friendly. Had to go next door for breakfast. Thought it was a good deal overall.

Best location as at the old centre. Good breakfast, good price. Room a bit small and facing the square with street lights. Curtain a bit thin to block out the lights. Generally a nice hotel in the historical building.

Bang in the centre, cheap, cheerful, and very very quirky. The room was cleaned every day, which was a pleasant surprise. Don't expect it to be full of all your mod cons, its a bed, with a toilet and shower attached to the room. What more do you need for three nights away.

Inside the building had various interesting quirks although furnishing was stark. On the first night, there was no heating and the duvet was insufficient to keep us warm. When we asked for another quilt or blankets, we eventually had to chase and were given a single duvet for a double bed. The breakfast room was in another building round the corner which was OK but strange. Believe it was shared with at least one other hotel. Breakfast was not hot as it arrived by trolley from yet another building so got cold en route.

Superior room 11 is at the top of two flights of steep, narrow twisting stairs. It is spacious but quite basic. The flimsy shower doors almost fell off and there was English TV among the 7 working channels. Location is quite good and the staff helpful. Breakfast at a nearby location was very good. Overall the hotel is good value. However, if we were to visit Riga again we would consider other hotels.

A bit overrated.
I had a superior room on the second floor. It was spacious with a huge bathroom. The bed was not too comfortable and the shower doors needed to be fixed. The breakfast buffet was good.

Good location, not so good hotel.
Tiny rooms, not even enough space to put luggage. The rooms where disgustingly dirty and we even found cockroach in the bathroom, we also had no hot water for most of our stay.

We loved this reconverted convent hotel in the centre of Riga. The hotel is cute and cosy, and so well located in the old town of Riga and easy reach from nearby car park if you come with a car. The room was clean, comfortable. The breakfast was at the corner of next street and filled up with international options. The must is simply the location; right by Saint Peter's church and a few minutes away from all the city's attractions, museums, charming cobble streets and amenities. For those coming with a car, we actually parked near the Central Market which is only a 12minutes walk from the hotel, an affordable and secured option. We recommend.

I was happy with the Hotel, a good location, and a good breakfast. But I was very unhappy with the noise outside the front of the Hotel. There was noise for hours into the night. I found it very difficult to sleep. It's a very lively area, with bars, and restaurants, and bands. The Hotel should seriously consider sound proofing the windows.

Friendly, helpful staff! The room was spacious, bed was a bit squeaky, but comfortable. The rooms were fitting with a TV, but no safe or mini refrigerator, which I regularly use for my important travel documents and water, respectively. One thing to note, no air con, and I like sleeping with the windows open, but my window was in an alley, and being close to the city center, a lot of foot traffic late at night.

in several parts: 1) the room: this is a budget "hotel" .. room was cramped, not easy to walk around the bed; not easy to sit on the loo because of handbasin interfering with knees; nonetheless spotless .. to note there are ZERO public rooms, just a couple of pleasant landings to sit and read awhile if wanted 2) services: there seemed to be someone on the "desk" 24/7, always male, always helpful eg about directions to places .. but see below for major problem about departure 3) BREAKFAST is without doubt the high point .. 100 metres away (partly covered) in a resto which appears to service more than one hotel .. full continental / eastern European / cooked British buffet (with a "token" from Ekes Konvents) .. a star fully worthy of 5 stars .. 4) arrival: as a working title for this review, I had "How to Hide a Hotel" .. I spent three quarters of an hour trying to find it, albeit with address and location .. trishaw driver pointed me to the wrong hotel .. if you say "Konvents", they all automatically think "Konventa Seta" .. even a local native Latvian speaking resident had walked by three times without realising it's there .. and, seriously, it's the worst signed hotel I have ever seen .. there is only a sign on the wall of the bar next door which reads Vesnica Hotel - I don't read Latvian, and for me that means "Vesnica Hotel" .. "Vesnica" means Hotel in Latvian .. plus an engraved plaque on the wall which reads " Vesnica Hotel Ekes Konvents" ..

Excellent location and a lovely old building! Allowed to check in early aswell. Brilliant buffet breakfast even if it's a very short distance from the hotel.Since it's a old building and in a great location i would like to suggest that you may need earplugs if you are a light sleeper! Overall the room facilities are slightly dated but that would not stop me from staying here again!

Old historical building, basic but different
Quite peaceful for the Old Town destination. I liked the house itself (old, with the touch of history). It's situated in the heart of Old Riga: next to the St. Peter and St. John churches. If you like hotels with elevators, lobby bars and air conditioning - this is not your hotel. But if it's not hot weather, you need a place to crash and buffet breakfast, this is valuable with the price :)

Fantastisk oppgold, sentralt, rask innsjekk, koselig og enkelt rom. Låsen derimot på rom sju kan fort gi deg litt panikk da den er vanskelig å åpne innenfra.
