This was our second trip to Big Cedar this year, and we never get tired of it! If you want to completely get away from everything, this is where you want to go. My husband and I took our son a couple of times and have made the trip alone and we loved both experiences. Once you arrive at the resort you don't even have to drive - you can walk the beautiful paths or take a shuttle everywhere on the resort property. We took our son on the Polar Express train ride on Main Street, which is only a 15 minute drive away. The food is wonderful at the resort restaurants, but if you rent a unit with a kitchen they provide everything you need - even the laundry and dish detergents. This resort is a true outdoors resort, with horseback riding, boating, fishing, swimming, playgrounds, etc. or you can just snuggle up by the fireplace. Dogwood Canyon is nearby, and I would highly suggest going. They have 3+ miles of paved trails with beautiful scenic views. You can rent bikes, take a tram, or walk the path. I believe everyone needs to experience this resort. It's truly magical.
