Naomi was a wonderful host! The house was so cozy, full of local history, beautifully decorated, and very clean. We stayed here for one night as a rest on a particularly long drive with a pit stop at Providence Canyon State Park, which is about 25 minutes of quiet back road away.
Would highly recommend this B&B to anyone in the area or looking to pass through.
Naomi also has many stories, so be sure to leave time to listen, as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I originally booked a room here because it was the closest property I could find for a business meeting the next morning. But I couldn't be happier with the experience. Ms. Richardson was friendly, professional, and helpful, and she made sure I had everything I needed. I had plenty of privacy, but I also felt appreciated and welcome. And the room itself was very nice--one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. I'll definitely be back.

The host was very kind and helpful letting me know of all the places to visit if I had a chance too ! Everything is very nice and clean and totally remodeled inside ! My room was very clean and comfortable . I would stay again if ever back in that area .
The host was awesome, we talked for 2 hours about the history of the town and the home built in mid 1800's. The home is beautiful, very well restored. We would definitely stay again
I stayed at this gorgeous home for two nights on a business trip. I had a warm and cozy room with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom. Very well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Naomi is very kind, conscientious, and accommodating and will make your stay very comfortable. The breakfast was great too! I will definitely stay here again!
This place is a little gem! The house has so much history and the room was so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Naomi, the owner, is such a special person! She shared so many interesting stories about the city and the house and she also gave great recommendations. I am thankful to have chosen this place near Providence Canyon and honored to have met Naomi. I definitely recommend this place and hope to come back.
We so enjoyed our stay with Naomi. She welcomed us in, made us comfortable, and then made some excellent recommendations for dinner.
Her home was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and our breakfast the next morning was wonderful!
I wish I lived closer. Naomi would be a lovely lady to spend more time with.
This is a true southern Gem! A lovely family owned home that has been converted into a 3 bedroom stay. Has a wonderful common room and dining room for breakfasts.
My hostess, Naomi, was great. Her roots are in the area, so she knows the history! It is close to Plains, America’s, and Providence Canyon. Lots to to do. And bonus, Richland rum factory just around the corner. If you want a lovely southern experience, this is a must stay!
My sister and I stayed here for a weekend trip. We planned to visit Providence Canyon State Park and this bed and breakfast was about 30 minutes away.
Naomi, the hostess/owner and charming conversationalist, was delightfully welcoming and pleasant.
The bedroom was lovely and large, enough room to unpack and sit in swivel armchairs to relax. The bathroom was spacious with modern upgrades, while the home still retained its historic charm and beauty. The bed was soft and comfy. The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning (control the temp with a remote) and a TV with streaming channels, but we didn't really use the TV.
Breakfast was warm and the coffee was delicious. Scrabbled eggs and bacon, French toast and bacon, yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit were the offerings over the three mornings we were there.
Richland is a very small town, so there are no dining options for lunch and dinner. You will have to drive to Americus or Columbus to get something to eat, but it worked out for us, as we were exploring during the days of our stay. Both Americus and Columbus are about a 30 minute drive, and they both have quaint downtown areas. We also visited Richland Rum Distillery (a 7 minute walk) and tasted some of their offerings. We had a great weekend. We would recommend M G Richardson Bed and Breakfast!
We booked this b&b as a spur of the moment trip. We wanted to be close to the President Carter places in Plains. Naomi is very nice, the room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and well stocked. Breakfast was nice and we got to pick the time we ate. Our stay here was very enjoyable.
Just for anyone who might be interested in the area- the only other thing in Richland is the rum distillery. I do highly recommend visiting Richland Rum. But there are no restaurants (except a hit or miss Subway) and we had to ride 25 miles to find dinner. Not terrible but good information to have. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for a couple of nights when we wanted to check out the various museums in Plains Georgia, and could not have been happier. Everything about the house was perfect; very comfortable bed with luxurious linens, spacious room cleverly decorated, plush towels, nice and comfortable dining and living areas, and everything was immaculate. I think our favorite part of our stay, though was chatting with Naomi. She is a great storyteller and wealth of information about the area and the history of the Carters, Fort Moore, and local businesses The day we left, weather became treacherous, and she let us hang out in the living room until we felt comfortable on the roads. We would love to stay there again.
I love staying at a B&B. This was no exception. The bed and pillows were wonderful. My room was spacious and decorated in a nautical theme. The common area was open and stocked with books, games and a piano.
The town is very small with 1 pizza place. There are other towns in area with a few restaurants. If you have dietary restrictions be sure to bring food with you.
Local attractions include the hometown of former president Jimmy Carter and Georgia's Little Grand Canyon.
Naomi is a gracious host and I will stay there again if in the area.
This was my husbands and I first time ever staying at a bed and breakfast . It did not disappoint. The owner is amazing and provided great hospitality. The establishment was clean and had beautiful furniture to match the time period of the house. The breakfast was great we had fresh fruits , toast , yummy frittatas , eggs and bacon. The owner was super helpful in providing ideas of what to do around Richland . The owner was also extremely knowledgeable about Richlands history . It’s also about 20 something mins away from the Providence state Canyon. It was hard leaving the B&B because it was so homely and a great place to absorb yourself in the country .
The home has been beautifully and tastefully updated with all the most modern conveniences! We totally enjoyed the walk in shower, and the mini split in our suite. Plus, and most of important of all was the amazing comfortable bed. My husband and I got a wonderful night's sleep. The house was very quiet and peaceful, but we happened to be the only guests that night.
The hostess was very cordial and friendly. She was very helpful in directing us to the Providence Canyon State Park, and informative about other places to visit in the area.
The breakfast was light, which was fine with us as we have food allergies. The area doesn't have many places to eat, so for the evening meal you have to bring your own or go to Subway.
We loved our stay at M G Richardson Bed and Breakfast and will stay there again if going through the area again.
Had an excellent stay at M G Richardson Bed and Breakfast! The room was clean with plenty of amenities. The host was wonderful and provided great conversation and company. The breakfast was prepared right on time the next morning and was delicious. I would highly recommend.
