Stunning location - poor service

I had looked forward to my stay at the Seehotel, booked for three nights during a business trip. The lakeside location and sauna/steam room facilities sounded ideal. However, upon arrival, I found a note in my room informing me there would be no telephones for the week due to system work. This also meant the sauna and steam room were out of service, as alarms wouldn’t be available in emergencies. There was no internet or Wi-Fi anywhere in the hotel. This was not mentioned in the welcome letter, and when I raised it at reception, the staff shrugged and unhelpfully suggested trying the top floor for a signal. Additionally, mobile reception was poor, and I often had to sit in a dark corridor on the third-floor conference area to connect and work. The staff appeared indifferent to the inconvenience. When I emailed to raise these issues, I received a handwritten note advising me to speak with reception. However, the house manager was never available when I attempted to follow up. The hotel itself is in a beautiful location in Rhinesberg, and the breakfast and restaurant staff were wonderful. However, my experience was further soured at checkout when the receptionist insisted I pay, despite having prepaid through Hotels.com. I ended up only paying the city tax, plus €5 per night for parking, which felt unreasonable given the lack of key amenities. I won’t be returning; prior notice of such disruptions, or a sincere apology, would have gone a long way.

Ich war mit der Unterkunft sehr zufrieden, ein kleiner Makel war der Geruch im Zimmer. Es hat den Eindruck von einem Raucherzimmer gehabt. Sonst war alles bestens.

Gut aber Charme einer Kurklinik

Wirkt ein bißchen wie ein Sanatorium oder Kurklinik. Viele ältere und bewegungseingeschränkte Menschen, da das Hotel absolut barrierefrei ist. Sehr strenge Corona-Maßnahmen. Frühstück muss man wählen und jemand packt es dann einem auf das Tablett, ist aber gut organisiert und man hat reichlich Auswahl. Doof war an einem Donnerstag, dass Sauna und Schwimmbad zu waren. Angeblich wg. Putztag. Man zahlt es ja schließlich mit.

Wir hatten ein sehr schönes Zimmer mit Balkon und tollem Bad, alles sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und in großer Auswahl. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Es wäre schön, wenn auf dem Balkon 2 Stühle gewesen wären.

Nette verzorgde kamers, zeer uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet, extra handdoeken voor het zwembad, enz. Het enige minpuntje is dat het hotel erg op rolstoelgebruikers ingericht is. Zo staat er maar 1 stoel op het balkon en zijn sommige tafeltjes (voor 2 mensen) ook voorzien van maar 1 stoel.
