Fuego Atitlan Eco-Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I had a wonderful time staying here. The staff were exceptional, very helpful and friendly. Communication was great, before arriving and during my time there. The room was perfect - incredible view, lovely balcony to sit out on, dependable wifi and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delivered, if you order it the night before and was delicious. You can see from the website pictures that the property is perched on the side of a steep hill, which allows for each “room” to have privacy and it great view. This also means lots of stairs, which might not work for some people. It’s an eco-hotel, so although each “room”has a sink, the two showers and toilets are shared, which was never a problem for me, personally. They were always available whenever I needed them. There is a well stocked kitchen, if you want to prepare your own food and a fridge with a shelf for each room, to store your items. The walk into town takes about 10-15 mins and is good exercise, although there are plenty of tuc tucs available to drive you, for Q10. Wonderful place, I highly recommend it!"

"A short lancha ride from Pana to Tzununa and you feel “off the beaten path”. Just about 1/4 mi Tuk-Tuk ride up the dirt road and you see a white, modern structure that occupies both sides of the street. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. The views of the lake and volcanos are commanding. They spared no expense. Quality throughout. The patio made for a great meditation space (the unit had 2 yoga mats). The Starlink internet speed was blazing and without dead zones (perfect for digital nomads). The restaurant is stunning with a fantastic menu and Chef is world-class. Marcela (the owner) and Sebastian are super nice and helpful, assuring you have everything you need. You can also ask about the fungi academy that is walking distance to see the most interesting species of mushrooms. We will be back. It is the perfect getaway from the stressful world. Came back home maximally relaxed after staying at Aviva! "

"I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Casa Ki’iil. The location of the hotel was perfect. It was about a 7 minute walk to La Calle de las Sombrillas and a short tuk tuk ride to anything else in San Juan or San Pedro. I got the lake view room, had a beautiful view of the garden and the lake. The staff were so so sweet and very helpful. They helped me order a public/private lancha to the hotel’s dock, gave me directions and recommendations, and even helped me get into the lake with the kayak. Breakfast was included as well, it was very simple but filling. I would definitely stay here again if I ever went back to Lake Atitlan! 100% recommend this place."
