"This was our first visit to Choctaw and there were definitely pros and cons to be weighed. Let me start at the beginning...there were not enough staff members working to check in guests and the line was long and even mobile check-in guests were having to stand in line and wait because no one was workjng that counter. When it was our turn, we were told that since we went through a third party for reservations, there was an issue because apparently the person (at Choctaw) didn't do her job and enter the information so we had to wait another 30 minutes while this person entered the info. And the person checking us in said, "Sorry about that but we hate third party reservations. They are the worst!"
Once we got into our room, we were realky pleased with it. The rooms were clean, spacious and we didn't hear any noise next door or in the hall. The rooms are a little on the pricey side since it was a weekend and we were there for a concert in the Grand Theater.
The location and size of the theater is nice. There is really not a bad seat. We had floor seats but I would probably pick seats further back since the floor has no slope so if someone in front of you stands up or is tall then you can't see the stage. There were plenty of opportunities for drinks and lots of bathroom space.
We weren't able to make reservations at the steak house early enough so we ate at Salt and Stone. Again, pros and cons. The food was excellent but the service was slow. "
