  • After husking and grilling coconuts following amazing recipes I promised I won't disclose, we wanted some rest by the lagoon to enjoy the surroundings and incredible locals (those guys are absolutely amazing!!). We discovered this place slightly out of town but still at walking distance where we could enjoy the lagoon with Kayaks or even walking during low tide. We could enjoy the beaches on small islands facing the deck only inhabited by beautiful crabs. #LifeAtExpedia

A fantastic property

A great property, right on the lagoon. Fully equipped for self catering. It’s in a perfect position to be able to sit and watch the water activities on the lagoon.

Holiday in paradise

We stayed at Muri Shores for 8 nights. The only regret we have, was that it couldn't have been longer. Fantastic location, view and host. If you visit Rarotonga, you would be crazy not to stay here. Book it now!

Kristina and her staff were great. Super friendly and helpful. The back villa came with amazing views with loungers and a table and chairs to enjoy the raised deck views. Bikes and kayaks were available for use and allowed us to see three turtles in the lagoon while paddling on three separate days. Loungers were also available for use on the beach. The night market was only steps away which made dining easy when we had no car available. We did rent a Muri Shores vehicle they had available at the end of our trip. This helped as our flight did not leave until late at night and gave us the option to tour the island, store our luggage in the car and have easy drop off at the airport since we had no place to stay after checkout, a common problem with late flights. Can’t say enough good things from this Canadian who was a long ways away from home.

With only six villa's available it is rather hard to get a booking. It is a fabulous place to stay. Beautifully clean and very well located.

All that you need with a luxurious feel

Amazing accomodations handy to all the amenities and included bikes and kayaks which we utilised fully. Beautiful view from the bed each morning with the feel of an overwater bungalow. Muri night markets in front meant beautiful meals eaten on the deck several nights. Saw several turtles right in front of the property each day. Kitchenette is fully appointed with all you need. You won’t regret staying here!!

We stayed eight nights at Muri Shores and had one of the best experiences of both of our lives! Proximity to the night market and the excellent dining choice of the Pacific Resort was convenient. We rented a scooter for the week and were glad that we did as Muri shores is a little ways away from other amenities on the island but with the scooter we were able to explore easily any area we cared to visit. If you are planning to visit and rent a scooter, I would highly recommend getting your motorcycle license in your home country BEFORE your Rarotongan vacay. It's not TOO much of a hassle, but getting the license was a little bit of a time suck on one of our days there AND you can't take the test on the weekend so we ended up renting a car for the first weekend we were there. As far as Muri Shores goes though, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone considering visiting Rarotonga. As a couple, we also really appreciated that it was an adults only location with good separation between the units. If I was going to give any negatives probably the only thing I can think of is that the lights from the sailing club next door are pretty bright at night and makes night time lounging on the deck (villa E) less pleasant than it would be otherwise, but of course this is no fault of Muri Shores! Oh, I guess one other thing is that the bikes provided by Muri Shores are certainly "rideable",they don't seem to be regularly maintained so may not be exactly what you are hoping for.

Der Aufenthalt in der Strandvilla war sehr schön. Wir hsben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Zimmer ist sehr groß und sauber. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Das Badezimmer war schön mitceiner großen Dusche. Die Terrasse und die Möbel waren gut. Man ist direkt am Strand. Edna und Albert konnten wir tagsüber fragen, wenn wir was brauchten oder wir kommunizierten mit Krystina über email. Das klappte auch im Vorfeld immer sehr gut und schnell. Gestört hat uns etwas der Essensgeruch von dem (sehr guten ) Restaurant nebenan, da die Lüftung in der Nähe unseres Bungalows (Nr. 4 ) war. Auch die morgendliche Begrüßung von Captain Tams Bootstour war etwas nervig. Der Strand ist ein Traum.

Great little villas right on lagoon. Clean with everything needed for a self contained stay. Great deck overlooking lagoon with cover if wanted. Handy to all Muri amenities and great communication from the owners and on site team. So good to be back in Rarotonga.
