Great spot, top notch. Views were amazing and walk to the black sand beach area easy and straight forward. There was a list to be awakened if Northern Lights showed (which they did) and really appreciated that option.

It’s a great hotel, although it’s clear it’s past its prime. The property feels a bit outdated, without yet having that classic charm. The staff is very attentive. We took the walk to the beach — highly recommended — and the service was excellent; they even dried our sneakers overnight so they’d be ready the next day. The food was very good, with a great dinner and a nice breakfast.

A gorgeous property. The black sand beach was incredible. The restaurant was first class. The breakfast was plentiful. I prefer showers with lips so that the water doesn’t flood. Very enjoyable, albeit pricey.

I had a wonderful experience here—the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The location is absolutely beautiful, with easy access to the beach just a short stroll away. It’s also conveniently close to plenty of great restaurants, shops, and local attractions. Perfect spot for both relaxation and adventure. Highly recommend!

The hotel is remote but has everything you need including scheduling a massage. The rooms were comfortable, the bar and lounge area are exceptional, and we had the best food of the trip in the hotel restaurant. Truly exceptional.

Amazing hotel. Views and beach walk was amazing. Easy drive to vik and beyond. Restaurant was delicious but eclectic. If you want somewhere more casual to eat you have to go into Vik. Sauna was gorgeous and staff was great, highly recommend!

I stayed at Umi following a business trip, as I began a 4 day solo adventure. Pros: excellent location, beautiful view, quiet surroundings, beautiful walk down to the black sand beach (though be weary - it is not so much a beach as a stream, but still beautiful), polite staff. Cons: The noise in the hallway bordered on unbearable - people talking even in the most respectable way, carried and echoed all the way down the hall, and the doors did not close well so there was a lot of slamming. There is *technically* room service available, but there are NO PHONES in the room, so if you want any, you have to walk down to reception (which is literally beside the restaurant) and order it, which really defeats the purpose of room service (though to be fair the food was delicious), the hotel itself was more run down that the online photos suggest. All in all, the location really made this stay for me, and the limited occupancy made parking and such always very easy. However, the hotel itself, and what it offered, was generally underwhelming. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't as unique an experience as I was hoping for.

A Very Nice Stay

Best hotel in the area in my opinion. Definitely would recommend if you're travelling through. Breakfast was nice and the evening restaurant food was very impressive. Only issue i found was the price tag on using the sauna, very expensive, hence why i didnt use it.

Amazing facility and grest location with beautiful mountain and ranch views. Great food. Friendly staff. Bathrooms a bit dim and need place for hairdryer. Could offer regular sheets when comforter is too warm.
