The lodge is spectacular, and warm, inviting and comfortable.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and the service unassuming and attentive. Staff will help with suggestions, and arranging any trips and activities you may want to do. Alternatively it is the perfect location to do very little. The food was delicious and dinner an experience itself.
We were in a lodge room which was so inviting and comfortable - especially the bed, with beautiful views over the lake.
The setting is idyllic, calm and peaceful. At night when the sky is clear you can see a million stars.
I had read the dinners were something special and they certainly were. You start with pre-dinner drinks and canapes and are shown the 5 course degustation menu for the night, with options to choose from for the main and dessert. Everything is beautifully presented and was delicious.
I couldn't fault a thing and we hope it won't be long before we can visit again.

it doesn't get any better than this. A truly amazing place with great food and service.
Blanket Bay is an absolute treat - we stayed for one night while on our trip to Queenstown - and it was just perfect. The staff are so attentive and nothing is too much bother - the rooms are divine and the bathroom gorgeous.
So - this is an easy 10 out of 10!!
This is a very special place. We were treated individually and made to feel important from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble including having our boots cleaned and meeting our dietary requirements at dinner. The building, bedroom and views were all stunning. The ambience feels very exclusive and there was a mass of facilities. We almost felt we were part of a dinner party rather than paying guests. The food was delicious and creative and it was lovely sitting outside. So if money is no object, or you want a real treat, then this is the place to stay in this area.
Most comfortable room so far in our 6-week tour of Australia & New Zealand. Stayed in Wakatipu chalet suite, a short walk from the main lodge. Beautiful heated pool. Dinner particularly good with meats (less so with fish, which is not local, alas). Cool games room downstairs for when the weather tips with rain. A really remarkable place, and actually good value for money when you consider all the amenities and the dinner effort (dinner doesn't include wine, though)!
