We had a wonderful girls birthday trip at Zel. They have so many activities to choose from during the day (yoga, bike riding, drink making classes, embroidery) just to name a few. Our favorite part was the spa. We had great facials and spending the day using the sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge was perfect on the rainy day we had. Our only complaint would be the beach needs more seating. Other than that we had an amazing stay and would definitely go back.

We recently stayed at Zel Punta Cana and had a pleasant overall experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely designed, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The pools were definitely a highlight—beautiful, well-maintained, and a great place to unwind throughout the day. That said, the food was average and felt quite repetitive, with similar options offered daily. The service was also just okay—nothing particularly standout, but not bad either. One downside was the beach—it’s a bit far from the main areas, and there weren’t enough sunbeds available, which made it less enjoyable at times. Overall, it’s a nice resort with great accommodations and pool areas, but there’s room for improvement when it comes to dining variety, service, and beach convenience.

Outside: Resort is well laid out and well kept. Beautiful outdoor areas. Could use more outdoor seating that is not for lounging. Pools are not really as clean as they should be. Algae and organic debris mostly. Lots of missing pool tiles sitting around either in the pool or around the pool. Rooms: Rooms are huge and very clean. Housekeeping is on request and even when requested they don’t replace all of the towels used. We had washcloths on day one but never again. Mini bar is not restocked everyday as they say, or they won’t appear to replace things like coffee or certain sodas. Showers have hot water and good water pressure. Beach: Not hard to walk to or get a ride on a tram. Clean and well kept. Not enough seats for everyone who goes. Food: 6/10 and varies on where you go. You don’t always get what you ask for because of language barriers. Buffet has good selection but food is often cold before of the way they heat it from only above. Bars: 7/10. Sometimes you just get what you get…regardless of what you ask for, even if ordering off their menu. Staff: Some are awesome and some act like they don’t wanna be there. Overall, quiet place to stay that’s very clean and I believe you’ll enjoy yourself.

The property is beautiful. The thatched-roof cabanas were my favorite. The staff overall were friendly and accommodating. The morning and afternoon activities were excellent. I highly recommend the Friday afternoon beach party. We had several negative aspects to our visit. -Our room wasn't ready at the 3 pm check-in. We had to wait an hour and then it wasn't completely stocked towels. -The housekeepers did not restock the water in our room most days. (The property recommends not drinking the tap water, so the water bottles are essential)> -Our personal contact was not great at follow through. I preferred to go around him for reservations and such. -I got traveler's diarrhea on day 3 of our 7 day stay and we did not leave the property while we were there.

My first time at Zel, and will definitely be going back! Also mentioning that this was a solo trip, and I felt very safe, welcome, and never was bored. There were many fitness classes that were awesome. I also got a massage reasonably priced and very relaxing. Different variety of activities daily, such as small art classes and souvenirs. Service (10/10): Many staff greet you at arrival. There is no typical front desk area, it is more personable with an assigned personal concierge that explains everything and is there to help you throughout the week with any concerns and reservations. Yunior was the best at answering any questions I had and very knowledgable of the resort. Gabriel and Veronica at the tacorini bar were the best at making drinks and very hard workers. Staff was always around for help, and very kind. Food & Drinks (8/10): Food was absolutely amazing surprisingly. Volcan, the steakhouse, was my favorite. I am very picky about my steak and I still loved it. Buffet was always fairly fresh, and they had a station to make fresh omelettes, pasta dishes, etc.. Drinks were typical for any AI resort, my only feedback is to maybe add in another bar/more employees. There is a swim up bar, however it is not very busy I think because it is in the shade. Pool/Beach (10/10): Pool was amazing, beach was also amazing. Only 10 minute walk or 3 minute shuttle. Rooms (10/10): Very clean, large, and daily housekeeping. Minifridge, coffee machine, tables, sofas, patio.

Zel was excellent!!! Zel swim up suite was amazing ! I had 3 rooms booked! The staff was amazing !! The Volcan steak restaurant was our favorite!! The staff was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted !! This place is truly a hidden gem!! We will be back to vacation here again!! Thank you to our concierge Raphy!! He is truly AMAZING!!! He made the magic happen!! ❤️

Very convenient for families. There’s plenty of golf carts to take you everywhere, food was pretty good, the staff very attentive! Amazing experience

We had bed bugs in our room, they didn’t spray the property to prevent insects. Food ok everyday mostly the same and cold . Staff didn’t speak English except in the reception. You had to take a trolley to get to the beach, bummer. Overall property small but cozy, nice pools, would not visit again

We faced a few challenges with cleanliness, service and food. I addressed these to Management and they were extremely receptive and appreciative of my feedback. The property is new (less than a year old) so they are still in the opening phase. They have the right attitude, which is what matters. I'm sure they will overcome these challenges and become an excellent property. The infrastructure and design are amazing. Their concept too, very wellness focused. I would like to recognize Romina from guest services and Emanuel from F&B. Amazing both! Super servicial and go getter attitude.
