Overall, my stay was great! The pool options were fantastic. The food options were good but the food could be seasoned a bit or have spices on the side.
The rooms were clean and a good size. Properly is easy to navigate and safe. Parties are fun and rowdy but other areas are calm and relaxed- best of both worlds.
All good, the staff do a great job, they were always in the best disposition to serve. The only thing I had comments is in the A/C at the rooms, sometimes feels hot. Thats the only thing you need to improve.
Rene at the front desk was amazing. Santana at the excursion desk was amazing.
The room was a disaster. Room 3003 had a bolt missing from the toilet and the room smelled like a sewer. The gym did not have adequate work machines. The FOOD was horrible.
Stay at Riu Bravo.
The room was cleaned amazing every day. The food wasn't something special. The resort is mostly for party people not like a family resort for quiet time and joyful stay. Every night drunk people yelling on hallways banging doors and trashing rooms. Overall not a great vacation experience.
First room on first floor balcony door didn't lock..went back to desk..they changed my room to a 2nd floor and closer to the front.every need I had was met..desk staff was pleasant and helpful..Emily in colonial dining room a dream .but most of staff...just there .asked that my room not be serviced and still went on daily..only complaint..
Food was not good at all not even traditional Dominican dishes. Roaches in the sports bar near the late night snacks. People smoking cigarette's and cigars all around including in the pool. Room was outdated (light fixtures broken and dresser drawers broken) not much entertainment at all compared to other Riu resorts.
Staff were friendly and useful however my room only had one working plug which i had to share back and forth with my roommate to charge my phone. Breakfast finished way too early and the food was no where near good. One of my beds was near broken and gave me a bad back. There’s also no golf carts. The Riu jungle party is advertised online as every Monday however when I arrived I learned that it’s every Tuesday
The hotel does not have golf carts to move around. You have to do a lot of walking in the heat to get to beach and restaurants. The restaurant staff are amazing. The resort also has a business with their own drivers ans so not let you order taxis or have anyone pick you up unless its someone thats paying them. They make guests walk miles to the entrance to meet their rides. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
There was a cockroach on my bed . I ask for 2 connecting rooms and it was not provided . The beach was filled with sea weed . We had no wifi for over 36 hrs . The only positive thing at the resort is the food and staff.

Disliked: Cleanliness
We had a blast here but the only thing I’d have to complain about is the rooms. Out dated and they could use some renovation. And these tiny tiny bugs were crawling all over the place including myself. I’m not sure what they were but they were super tiny. Other than that staff was amazing and everything else was great.

I was a bit worried before arriving after reading the reviews since this was my first time in Punta Cana and my first time staying at an all inclusive resort but I’ve never been left more happier and satisfied.
All the staff here are very welcoming, helpful and so full of life. I give the food a 7/10 considering they are mostly all buffets but nonetheless there are so many restaurants to choose from. The cleaning crew does a great job every morning cleaning your room and the hotel staff are very quick to cater to your needs. Entertainment is a 10/10, everyone there definitely knows how to have a good time — the party never stops.
However, be aware of the bugs. My friends room had a cockroach crawling around but the staff were quick to get rid of it and have another room ready in a few hours.
I don’t normally write reviews for places I’ve been to but now that I am home I cannot stop thinking about the amazing time I had. Don’t let the bad reviews fool you — coming from a very picky person. All love to the RIU Bambu staff ❤️❤️
The shower had no shampoo or conditioner for guests — only a 2-in-1 “hair & body wash”, which appeared to be just like the same hand wash product provided in the bathroom. Shower flooded many times as the drain was not doing its job properly. The restaurants were not open until 10pm (as advertised), all of them closed as soon as the “limited number of people” was reached. Food was okay, nothing spectacular; a variety of appetizers and desserts were served, but there were only a few options for main dishes. Everything tasted fresh though. Pools were poorly maintained and got dirty very fast due to the huge number of guests. Bars were good with friendly staff making drinks all day — without pressure for tips. Beach front was a nice spot to relax and enjoy calmness. It is a cheat resort, don’t expect much. Good option if you have a low budget for a short trip.
The lighting throughout the property is over 20 years old, and the HVAC barely works in the room.
The ceiling fan can't control the speed; it's only on and off.
Cockroaches are everywhere in the property and inside the shower.
The hairdryer doesn't work.
No ironing board.
When you remove the RIU card from the door, the whole room shuts off, even the outlets, so you can't charge anything when you aren't in the room
The buffet's food made my whole family sick, and there was a 15-30 minute line in each aisle.
The smart door lock has locked us out for 3 days in a row, and the maintenance crew hasn't fixed it.
Steakhouse: you gotta be there 1hour before opening. Stay in line; if not, you will not be able to go there.
If you don't speak spanish it will be hard for you to communicate with 80% of the staff.
The entertainment crew will go to any umbrella that has girls so they can “talk to them for the activities.” Still, we never saw one man participating in any of those entertainment-only women. Personally, I don't mind that; that's true of every resort I have been to so far, but at this resort, it was more so 😂.
It does have a minibar, and it's completely free, so that's the only good thing about it.
It does have activities outside of the resort
It does have an indoor club and pool parties
Most of the servers were friendly
The cleaners have done a good job
The reception was helpful to some extent
As a resort, unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience 🌟🌟
Thank u

2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Where should I begin ? This property is by far the worst RIU I have ever stayed at. Let’s just list pros and cons.
Pros:
Pool parties are fun.
Entertainment staff are very high energy.
Shows are great.
Small shuttle that takes you for free to a small souvenir shop only 10min away.
Cons:
Straight cats on property are all over the place.
No ATM on premises. They have a booth that requires you to show passport to give you any exchange.
Roaches on their restaurants. (Physically seen at the Hibachi restaurant. )
The AC unit does not blow cold air and makes horrible noises at night.
The beds are worn down and hard.
Rooms are outdated.
Beach are is infested with their own salesmen who are on you as soon as you hit the sand. (So much for a private beach)
Staff are very stereotypical and tip hungry. No dollars= no service. No welcoming attitude.
Poor customer service from check-in staff-no map of property given or orientation to the place and activities.
Transportation is a pain, be ready to use only their taxi services. No uber is allowed near their property. You must walk to the main entrance at your own risk.
*this one might just be my own perception, be your own judge- Everywhere you go if they know you staying at RIU bamboo will treat you like you are staying at the lowest of the low. Again , be your own judge.
I really hope this helps someone not to spend their hard earned money on properties like this.
RIU do better. Yes , there are Latinos who don’t speak Spanish
definitely some areas that could be improved. The beach was beautiful, and the food offered a great variety. I spent most of my vacation on excursions and activities, so I only had about four days to fully enjoy the hotel itself. The staff was a mix of excellent and disappointing. During my stay, I witnessed a fight at the pool involving an employee. On another occasion, a guest pulled down his pants and urinated in the pool in front of everyone. I understand that the hotel can’t control every guest’s behavior, but experiences like these definitely affect your stay. One thing I found very frustrating was the constant interruptions on the beach. It was difficult to truly relax because vendors were continuously approaching guests to sell excursions, massages, and other services. The rooms were clean, but they could use some improvements. There weren’t enough electrical outlets to charge phones, and several of the outlets were loose or didn’t work properly, making it difficult to keep devices charging. I traveled with my daughter, so my priorities were different. If you’re mainly visiting to party, some of these issues may not bother you. Lastly, I’d like to mention the staff uniforms. I honestly felt sorry for the employees. This is the Caribbean, where the weather is extremely hot, many of them are required to wear long pants uniforms. I believe well-designed uniforms would look just as professional. Seeing employees working outdoors and sweat excessively because is Sad.
