Mold in bathroom, water bugs in the room, Waiting for check in was hours, Everyday same food in buffet, in all restaurants you can make only 3 reservations per week, and when you go to make reservations most of restaurants are booked, unacceptable!! The resort itself was beautiful with lots of activities for entertainment. The room however needed maintenance. The bathroom ceiling over the toilet was leaking, the black out curtains were torn and broken, the air conditioning wasn’t blowing cold air, and the mini fridge didn’t stay cold.

Food was not good and some of the dining furniture was old and damaged. Also the showers smelled very badly due to pipes. Some room furniture was stained. Staff friendliness needs to improve . The Dominican Republican experience has fallen off a lot from what it use to be. Service, hospitality, and quality of hotels are not what it use to be.

Bahia P. Grand Turquesa is a dated property but overall very accommodating. It’s perfect if you’re not looking to stay in the room a majority of the time on your trip. You have shuttle services to different parts of the resort that are very easy to catch around the property. The big con is the upselling, when I checked in they offered an upgrade to a different property for more money. Then they try to rope you in an hour long presentation to join their travelers club.
