A Memorable Stay at The Old Courthouse Inn I recently stayed at The Old Courthouse Inn in Powell River and had a wonderful experience. This unique heritage property offers charm, comfort, and a real sense of history—all in a welcoming atmosphere. Highlights of My Stay: Historic Character: The inn is full of personality, with beautiful architectural details and a warm, nostalgic feel that reflects its roots as a 1939 courthouse. Comfortable Room: The room I stayed in was quiet, clean, and thoughtfully decorated—perfect for a relaxing and restful stay. Delicious Breakfast: Breakfast at Edie Rae’s Café was a real treat—fresh, well-prepared, and served in a charming setting. Genuine Hospitality: I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly Belanger, the owner. His warm and friendly approach really made me feel at home and added a personal touch to the visit. Great Location: Situated in the historic Townsite area, it’s an ideal base to explore Powell River’s coastal charm, trails, and local gems like Townsite Brewing. Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a stay with character, comfort, and a personal touch, I highly recommend The Old Courthouse Inn. I truly appreciated the care and attention that went into every part of the experience—and I look forward to returning.

The delicious breakfast (included with the room) in Edie Rae’s was the icing on the cake. A very historical and truly wonderful place to stay in Powell River. We will definitely come back.

Everything was fine except for the checkin. We couldn’t find any staff in the building. Another guest who happened to come out of her room showed us where the key to our room was She called a person who either worked there or was the owner but we never did see this person

The property is a historic building but needs to be upgraded to meet 2025 standards. It feels shabby. For example, there are barely enough plugs in the bedroom and few are 3-pronged. For the price being charged, kleenex and toilet paper should be soft. We were told the power would be off in the morning and there would be a cold breakfast downstairs. The power did not seem to go off and the breakfast was abysmal. Lots of bread in the fridge but nothing to put on the bread - i.e. no butter, peanut butter or cheese. Coffee could have been brewed and left in a thermos. Nada. We had to hunt for plates and there were no napkins anywhere. In a word - inhospitable.

As name suggests it is old but cozy and vintage style. Loved the decors. Breakfast was great. Loved the Kelly’s Cakes pancakes. Made fresh, crispy and fluffy pancakes! Loved the vibe! Great service! Ample parking too!

I liked the waitress in the restaurant. Workwd her butt off but remained friendly amd cheery. I didnt like others, probably owners or staff, coming in after us, going straight to a window with a view (we had a wall) and being serrved and eating before we even got to order. I liked the brewery across the street.
