Room space was good, bathrooms were very small but well appointed. Needed more counter or shelf space in bathroom. A little further from colleges than listed on site but still a good location and experience.

I would definitely recommend Holiday Inn Hotel in Poukeepsie area. Ms Linda from the restaurant is superb in customer service. She is friendly and aproachable. I would love checking-in again at this Hotel probably in July.

Lobby smelled like cat urine. Was charged more for one night of stay than the other and not informed. Placed in the basement floor because we wanted side by side rooms, no other rooms available. I paid more for these rooms than I have in NY City so expected better. The rooms were OK although there was mildew present in Room 129, as part of the group we were with. There was no outlet in the bathroom to plug in the hair dryer, and no other near a mirror in the room that worked. Obvious that all rooms need a cosmetic facelift. Awakened by a fire alarm and other guests. Received a letter under the door the first night not to open bathroom door during a shower, it would set off a fire alarm. On a positive note, when complained about children running up and down the hall and screaming, the staff took care of it right away. Would be wonderful if there was more than a one night stay the coffee would be replenished. Some of the outlets did not work for charging devices. No other interaction with staff.

First basement room key didn't work. Next room. in the moldy basement worked. Domestice disturbance in the neighboring room on Saturday night went on for two hours or more - night manager claimed the next day she didn't hear anything - woman screaming get out for two hours - doors slamming peoip[le coming and going from basement door. Frightening - tried to call the front desist phone in the room didn't work, called on my cell night manager said she'd look into, Next am very defensive said she heard nothing on going down into the basement briefly - I had to explain it wasn't about what she didn't hear, but the conditions of the room they rented to me. - still remain very defensive nearly angry - I explained I wasn't in the habit of making up domestic disturbance takes. Very awful experience e woill never rent from Holiday inn or Expedia again. Period shabby p[lace - shabbier treatment - not professional or decent in any way.

Back in the area.
This was my second time at this hotel. The professionalism and politeness of all staff members is even better than before, although, I found it already very good. I stayed in a room that had two full-sized beds, and I only slept in the one closest to the window, but I found it incredibly comfortable.

The fire alarm went off twice in the Morning during my stay. Apparentlyit can be triggered by the steam generated when you use the showers and keeping the door crack.

Beds are mad hard, pillows are nice tho. Bathroom was old, but had all the fixings (hairdryer, clothes iron, soaps, lotions, high efficiency towels). Staff were super pleasant and definitely doing a great job, the best they can with what they're given. The bar was taken up by a wedding part and was super loud but the rooms stayed mostly quiet, except for the side by side neighbor noise. Room was dark with curtains pulled but it also felt impossible to close them together all the way. Room smelled like wet dog, probably because the ventilation is so bad that they have a highlighted notice to guests that you need to keep the bathroom door closed before and after showers as to not set off the fire alarms. --speaking of fire alarms, during my stay, the alarms went off at 4am. As all the guests exit and stand waiting 5-10mins in the parking lot, two fire trucks come up. It was a false alarm, everyone back to your rooms, someone was just smoking in their room. Go back to sleep. 5am the alarms go off again, none of us know whether we should leave again or not, we all go back out to the parking lot. 10mins pass and a fire truck rolls up, 5mins more, two police cars roll up. Walk back through the lobby, see the police outside a room down the hall. lady says 'someone was smoking weed in their room and are refusing to stop or leave.' go back to sleep awake to the sound of the room service next door. room clock was broken. I missed breakfast.

Good place to stay
My Hilton stay in Poughkeepsie was a good experience. The front desk staff were friendly and professional and the amenities were fine. The room was freezing though and you could not adjust the temp. I had to turn the system off to be comfortable. My only other issue was the toilet tissue holder which was broken and seemed like it should have been an easy fix, finally the price for an overnight stay seemed a bit high otherwise it was a clean, safe and somewhat comfortable place to stay.

Find a different location!! The odor from animals is disgusting. Our room smelled like wet dogs and the hallway humidity was like a sauna. We checked in and checked out with 30 minutes and the front desk clerk would do nothing to assist. We were charged for a nights stay for only being there 30 minutes. Go anywhere else.
