「Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very accommodating and friendly. Loved their Sri Lankan meals. It’s not 5 star hotel but the staff make up for it. 」

「We loved the place, the owners are beautiful people providing all sort of services but more important even, they provide very useful information about services in town and average price for them. Super helpful when it comes to bargaining with locals. Ideal place if you look for a quiet holiday as it is close enough to walk to the lively places but located in a quiet local area.」

「Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! My only choices were to cancel the booking or pay the "new prices" which were 3x higher! I ended up saying I didn't want the booking and found other accommodations. 「Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans ce joli petit hôtel, juste en bord de mer et proche de tout, c’est vraiment parfait ! De plus, le personnel est absolument adorable, et rende très volontiers service, le petit déjeuner aussi très bon ! 」

「Wir waren vier Nächte als Zwischenstopp hier eingecheckt. Wir wurden wenig herzlich empfangen. Auch funktionierten anfänglich die Toilette und die Dusche nicht. Beim betätigen der Dusche roch das Wasser unangenehm. Die Sauberkeit des Zimmers war eher sporadisch. Auch wurde während des gesamten Aufenthaltes weder das Bettzeug noch die Handtücher gewechselt. 「Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes, und leider hatten wir ziemlich viele Ameisen. Hier sollte definitiv nochmal nachgebessert werden. Ein paar Dinge, die ich als Verbesserungsvorschläge hätte: Ein Mülleimer im Bad, eine Badematte, eine Klobürste, eine Seifenschale sowie Duschgel und Shampoo wären super.
