Although the staff was great, the property is in disrepair. Due to this the windows allow stink bugs to crawl in and there is an infestation of them. I had to have staff come with a vacuum to our rooms multiple times to get rid of the bugs. This is in a small town, so unfortunately hotel options are limited.

The staff was great I had room 102 it took an hour for them to get us into the room because the door lock issues.. I checked out the next day on a two day stay because of the door and still didn’t get a refund… the toilet in the room also wouldn’t flush.. it was just a very bad experience for me I travel for hospice and this is the worst room I have came across

I liked that there was sufficient area to take my dog outside, and it was next to a dollar general and McDonald's. But for the room, the headboard of the bed was dirty, there was a half open beer can in the mini fridge, gummy bears on the lamp, and the bathtub didn't drain very well.

Staff was friendly enough and it was clean enough. Beds were terrible, door locks needed work. The pool was being worked on which is the reason we chose that place so that was a disappointment.

Got to our room completely unpacked only to find that one of the beds was broken. We had to change rooms, not easy for 2 senior citizens who had just drove 500 plus miles. The staff was very nice got us the room next door but it’s not what we expected to do. Nice place to stay we spent the night there the previous week at the start of our trip and decided to return on our trip home.

Eh…

The workers were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was ok but the hotel seems to need to be updated. The toilet seat was not attached fully to the toilet. The shower curtain was too long for where they hing the bar. The train outside was so loud I felt like I was camping on a runway. Breakfast was decent, but they ran out of stuff an hour in. The smell of cigarette smoke wafted into the room during the night. You could smell pot in the hallway. Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

We arrived to the property, and the check in process was swift. However, when we got to our rooms we discovered that the doors were not locked and the locks were actually broken on both rooms. We reported it to the front desk attendant who made a note for the manager to fix it. The next morning, we attempted to follow up with the manager who quickly dismissed us & told us he would get to it. Apparently there were SEVERAL door locks not functioning as we overheard that another guest had the wrong locked placed back on their door and was locked out of their rooms. We stayed for 3 nights and the door locks were never fixed the entire time!!

If you like feeling unsafe, this is for you!

The only reason we came to Portsmouth was because we have a friend at Shawnee State but if I could never set foot in Portsmouth or anywhere near this hotel again I would. The entire area feels extremely unsafe and is completely run down. The days we stayed half of the parking was roped off so it was impossible to find a parking spot at night which given the lack of safety of the area makes you feel even more unsafe. The only positives to the inside are that the front desk staff are friendly, the beds are comfy, it's quiet enough and the ac works - the toilet was broken and never stopped flushing, which our friend told us was common for this hotel as she stayed there and had the same problem. I would not have felt safe being in a first floor room and was glad we were on the second. We requested a non smoking room and were put in a smoking room so the entire room and corridor stank of smoke. The ice machine is insanely loud and echoes down the whole corridor. There were beetles in the bathroom. There is free breakfast and a pool, but we didn't try either as we didn't feel safe doing it. The room is fine for sleeping in. However, Portsmouth in general is so utterly dismal that I don't know why anyone would want to. Again, the front desk staff were nice and made things feel a little safer, but I will chew off my own fingers one by one before I ever return here. We only stayed because the other hotels require you to be 21 and we aren't. Do yourself a favour. Don't.

The staff was amazing, everything was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. I would have liked to had a hot breakfast. But I'm still not going to complain the Danish and the coffee was really good and it did his job.
