The room was beautiful and thoughtfully laid out. The location was perfect for us, quiet enough that we could rest at night but close enough to all the sights we wanted to see. The staff were very responsive and we also appreciated the water and snacks provided. Overall an excellent place to stay, I would recommend highly.

This was a hidden gem. Our 3-night stay at the Utopian in Porto was wonderful. The property is affordable, chic, and gives one a truly bespoke experience. Though there is no front desk staff, they are very communicative via e-mail and were available to answer questions. The room was quite spacious and clean and the 5-star bed was perfect after a long days worth of walking and clocking in 20k steps each day. I really loved the big windows as it let in sunshine and natural light and fresh air. Though, we certainly needed the unbelievably quiet and effective air conditioning at times when it did get a bit too warm. And, once the windows were closed, any noise from the street outside fell to a whisper. We did experience a little bit of reverberation at night when cars would race down the street causing a bit of a rocking motion, but this was not an issue for us and we slept well each night. In fact, I think it added to the charm of this place. Thankfully, we did not have much luggage except for two carry-on bags and a tote, but be mindful that there are no elevators so if you are on a high floor, be ready to carry your luggage up the stairs. The welcome basket was a very nice touch and we certainly appreciated the free water. Our stay at the Utopian was extremely pleasant and we would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves fortunate enough to return to Porto. We loved the walkability of the area and being in a slightly less crowded or touristy location.
