This is an apartment building run by a hotel from around the corner, from what I understand. It's a five story building with the first three floors being apartments for the locals and the top two floors overnight stay rooms for visitors. It works out quite well. Everybody was nice that I ran into and the area was fantastic to get around the city from. It's in downtown Portland. Situated just below the Pearl District and the OldTown (Chinatown) to the east. It's near everyhting you need from restaurants and shopping to moring coffee shops and an excellent bookstores and music stores. Extremely walkable, very close to the river for beautiful walks and a lot of activities. The front desk and check in are around the corner on 11th at the Mark Spencer Hotel. The entire staff was incredibly courteous and helpful with all my inquiries and needs. I would book again.
Adequate for somewhere to sleep on a solo trip…would probably not stay here with a family. Area is a bit sketchy at night. Room was clean, staff was helpful.
Positives:
The Washington Plaza Apartments are in a perfectly centralized location, close to everything and blocks away from transportation. The apartment was very sunny with lots of windows, ample closet space, a comfortable bed, and a full kitchen. The one-bedroom apartment we stayed in was a sunny corner unit on the top floor. Honestly, I was very happy with my entire stay at this location. The value for the four days was an unbeatably affordable price. The walkability of this location is 10/10. I could easily see myself living at the Washington Plaza Apartments in this very eclectic building in the heart of Portland.
Negatives:
This is where I get a bit nitpicky and honest about this location. If you are looking to stay at a five-star location in the heart of the city, look somewhere else, because some people would be completely turned off from staying here. The building is a bit run-down with an old, shaky elevator and a strange smell in the hallways. The apartment we stayed in was furnished with very old (1990s-style) furniture that reeked of cigarette smoke, had burn holes in the couch, plus dusty window blinds and rusty water in the bathroom when running the hot water. The shower was tiny! On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable with a feather pillow-top mattress pad, a fluffy comforter, and pillows. The apartment had a bunch of windows, a great view, a tower fan in the bedroom, a ceiling fan, and a small air conditioner in the living room.
This condotel is great for travelers who want to be in the middle of northwest Portland and have a full kitchen with their accommodations. Lots of space with very adequate amenities. Some might get a little confused that the check in is at the Mark Spencer Hotel that's around the corner, so let that be noted.
The unit is not luxurious but very comfortable.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Felt clean other than the floor and I appreciated the amenities. It felt more like a hotel stay this time around than when I first stayed there.
Really excellent place to stay, especially for those of us with dietary restrictions. Clean and quiet room, centrally located, close to the Max and Streetcar, near Powell's and Tom McCall Park. Excellent and friendly staff. Affordable. Just a really great place to stay!
Staff was suer friendly and helpful. Cute 1 bedroom unit, perfect for a weekend away! Lots to do within walking distance. Secure gated entrance. Will stay again!
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was great, we got an upgrade and the space was lovely. Truly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever stayed in. It is in a great location downtown - close to Powells bookstore, Stumptown coffee, dive bars, ramen, sushi, etc. 10/10 would stay here again
