I don’t usually write reviews, but our stay at this Motel 6 was so disturbing that I feel compelled to warn others. We had someone pull the fire alarm in the middle of the night, causing chaos throughout the property. As the alarm was blaring, we heard a violent commotion outside our room—a man and a woman were physically fighting, and we literally witnessed the man choking her and trying to throw her over the banister. It was terrifying, and there was zero visible security presence or staff intervention. the sheriffs and fire department came out and arrested people and reset the alarm thanks to ME calling.
The room itself was disgusting. Despite booking a non-smoking room, the space reeked of cigarette smoke, and the smell was so strong it made it hard to sleep. The sheets and mattress were stained, and we were so uncomfortable that we ended up sleeping without blankets. We had thrown the bedding on the floor hoping housekeeping would replace them, but to our shock, the cleaning staff just put the exact same dirty sheets and blankets back on the bed the next day.
This was easily one of the worst and most unsafe lodging experiences I’ve ever had. We couldn’t wait to leave. Do not stay here—it’s not worth the risk.
Shelley from the front desk was really sweet and checked us in fast though. Thank you Shelley! You deserve to work at a better hotel, or somewhere you can be worth more.
