This place reeks of history and stories. If only the walls could talk. This reminds me of a bordello of another era. Single rooms are clean. Bathrooms are great. Easy to share them. Nothing luxurious. Great location. Lovely sitting outside area below the rooms. Fun bar. Very pet friendly. Staff were great. I left something in my room and a woman came and found us sitting outside. She returned the property. So conscientious. Good value for the price!!!

The bar is really cool and the outdoor space is lovely. The room we were in had a sink and a very comfy bed. They are not kidding when they say it is loud in the rooms at night due to music from the bar. The keys are very fussy. There are separate rooms for the toilet and others for the showers. I would stay here again though!

Second time staying here, a pleasant experience overall. Checking in was a bit annoying, since only the bartender could do the process, and he was unfortunately swamped with bar customers for a while. Not sure why another staff member couldn't take care of the process. Other than that, clean rooms, friendly staff, convenient location. Noise from the shows below isn't so bad, although noise from other guests in the hallways in the mornings can be a bit much, but not unexpected given the layout and age of the building. Would stay here again!

This was a unique place to stay for a night after flying into Portland. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. You can hear the music from downstairs but they don’t play too late. There was a band playing in the saloon during our stay so they had a cover charge to get into the saloon that was not included in your hotel stay. Luckily they had an outdoor area that is feee to sit at and eat.

For the price, you can’t beat it. If you’re looking for luxury, though, this is not your place. The rooms are very tiny and they’re very old, which is the point, but it’s more of a hostel set up with shared bathrooms down the hall. The location was excellent. We were able to walk down to all the main restaurants and basically just park our car and cruise by foot. The amenities are very basic, but it did the trick!

I had a business meeting at the nearby hospital, so stayed for 2 nights. Inexpensive. Room size small, but fine for solo traveller. Good AC. Good food and drink downstairs. Staff were friendly and didn’t mind that I nursed a beer while doing some computer chores. Was able to work comfortably at both in-bar and patio tables. No breakfast service here, but good bagels are just up the block.

The hotel is as advertised, as in, it is primarily intended for folks enjoying the festivities downstairs. It was clean, the staff were ridiculously friendly and helpful and the location was close to everything I wanted to do or get to while I was in town. If you’re attending a show at the White Eagle Saloon and you don’t mind a steepish stair climb to your room, I’d recommend checking out these lodgings.

There's a bit of noise from downstairs until they close at 10, which I expected. I wish there were a bench or a shelf in the shower rooms, but otherwise, a cute little place. I did not have any ghostly experience.

Music plays until midnight, but you know this going in. The only really annoying thing is the room cards demagnetize very easily. I was carrying it in my pocket next to a credit card and it stopped working. Both mine and my girlfriends failed. They need to get a better system, rather than blaming us for having it next to something magnetic. Never had this issue at any other hotel.
