Top Port Wine Route Hotel Reviews

YOTEL Porto
8/10 Good
"Overall our stay was a pleasant experience. Hotel location was right near the metro, not 100% central but still within close proximity of the city. It was easy to walk around. Staff was friendly and responsive when needed. Unfortunately we went during a heat wave, the air conditioning wasn't strong enough and very inconsistent."

Porto Royal Bridges Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is extremely well-located for many of the most well-known sights and also very near metro and the train station. Staff were helpful and accommodating and the buffet breakfast was quite good. The rooms are quite small but has everything we really needed, especially good air-conditioning during a heat wave!"

Mercure Porto Centro Santa Catarina
10/10 Excellent
"Great, central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy to walk everywhere around Porto. Large selection of food for breakfast. Would like to have seen more dairy-free options, for example, yogurt. I did see almond milk as an option. Had gluten-free options."

"The garden bar was closed throughout our stay and when we asked the staff, we were informed that it is permanently closed. Apartment itself was fantastic and staff very friendly."

Hotel Carris Porto Ribeira
10/10 Excellent
"The location is far superior to most hotels in Porto. The first room we stayed in had issues, and it felt like being in a basement. The view faced a building's side, and the AC wasn't working despite waiting. Even the cold air and room air weren't circulating. The room smelled musty. When I inspected the bed, I found a few small insects crawling. It's likely because of the closeness to the ground floor. I went to the front desk to explain and perhaps find a solution. Being respectful and understanding, the front desk attendant, Anna, was kind and helpful. Management understood and provided us with a new room, which was clean and appropriately refreshed. It's telling that the hotel had once been beautifully decorated and updated. Since then, the carpet shows wear, towels were fraying, couches were stained, and wardrobe doors didn't close properly. I didn't bother with the gym, given the equipment was rusty and didn't seem like I wanted to stay. The views were incredible compared to my first room, and I think that's what is saving the experience. My evaluation is that the hotel's location is amazing. The value is comparable to the other hotels; however, I would seek a more updated hotel if I were to stay in Porto again. Anna really helped us out, and I want to thank her for providing quality expert service."
