"Everything about this hotel is a gold star, despite the bathrooms being slightly outdated and the road to get there semi isolated for food options. This is a great place for a night or even a week! The staff were friendly, and so were the ducks and eels! We were fortunate to see the lunar eclipse right from their hand built trail, and only wish we could have stayed longer. "

"This is a location for someone with a car or youthful energy. Steep hill up to resort and another to get to reservation desk. Units can have steep long steps down and up again. Advisement of meals available, but not while we were there. Room was clean. Service staff were great. Responsive to requests was slow. "

Clear instructions regarding access, proactive guidance about the steep driveway (with helpful tips), and responsive email communication made arrival seamless and expectations well managed. Waking up to valley views and birdsong felt like a genuine reset. A rare, beautifully resolved retreat on Waiheke. Highly recommend."
