  • Cape Rachado Lighthouse is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, lighthouse in Malaysia. It is a working lighthouse so it is not open to the public unfortunately. It is the highlight of things to do in Port Dickson even though it is technically not in the city. The view from the wall over the Strait of Melacca is stunning. There are two secluded beaches behind the lighthouse, down about 1000 stairs, that are the most prestine we have ever seen! No one was there besides us for the 5 hours we lounged on soft white sand surrounded by crystal blue water. One of the best things we did in Malaysia!

  • This secluded beach sits beneath/behind the Cape Rachado Lighthouse. It is prestine with soft, fine white sand and clear blue water. The beach is small and wonderful. We saw no one in the entire park when we were there. To find the beach: walk up the road to the lighthouse (entrance fee is 1 ringgit/person). Walk up the stairs to the lighthouse and in the back left there are stairs going down. Follow the path to the bottom - which is a tiring but short hike on the way back! You will find 2 beaches, one on each side of the point! #waterlust

Wholesome and well-maintained resort on the beach!

Love this quiet resort on the beach. It’s also right next-door to the entrance to a natural park with many interesting hikes. This facility does entertain some large groups of guests but can also be very quiet and peaceful at times. There’s no liquor served on site, but the amenities, the park the beach and the ocean were all excellent. Some small disappointments with my evening meals but everything else was quite good. Prices are high in the restaurant for this area so quality could be improved a little there. The servers were readily available and quite sweet to me as the only Caucasian on site for four days. Definitely a strong Muslim presence here going by the way, the women were dressed, and the Quran and prayer mat in my room for starters. This didn’t affect my visit negatively in anyway.

Not relaxing at all. There was a huge company retreat happening so there were 300 workers yelling through team-building games, and then a booming microphone voice for long periods, and then every room was raucous till 2am. If they are having one huge company retreat the hotel should really book out the whole resort and not let unsuspecting tourists like us book in.

Stayed in a 3-bedroom "apartment". A really lovely and spacious floorplan with (as its name suggests) three separate bedrooms each with their own ensuite bathroom. It was so nice to be able to travel with a group, share a common living area, and have the convenience of our own separate bathrooms. There are no cooking facilities in the apartment but you can eat outside meals/snacks around the dining table. Just remember to bring your own cutlery/plates/dishwashing products etc. as only glasses/mugs are provided. The living area was huge - really impressive and airy with a lovely beachy vibe (ceiling fans only). However, each of the bedrooms had their own air-conditioning. Buffet breakfast was excellent. All staff we encountered were super friendly, efficient, and hard working... from the porter, to reception, to the restaurant (both dinner and breakfast). Our stay here exceeded our expectations. Die Unterkunft macht einen super Eindruck und das Personal ist extrem freundlich und Kinderlieb. Leider wird der tolle Eindruck davon getrüppt, dass in unseren 4 Tagen vor Ort nicht nur immer morgens um 6:30 Uhr der Laubsauger im Garten lautstark eingesetzt wurde und an Schlaf nicht zu denken war, es kamen jeden Morgen mehrere Reisebusse mit über hundert chinesischen Touristen die lautstark anreisten und die Busse jedes Mal hupten und den Empfang vorläufig verstopften. Auch war dann der Speisesaal, der schön im freien am Pool ist, komplett verstopften. An einem Abend war im Garten eine Veranstaltung mit Karaoke, welche bis um 23 Uhr ging und so extrem laut war, das die Kinder und wir selber kaum einschlafen könnten. Das Hotel und vor allem unser Zimmer war top, aber diese Umstände haben unseren Eindruck leider stark geschmälert.

The staff was friendly especially Aziz at the reception counter. He was helpful and pleasant. The housekeeping staff was very helpful and efficient. However, the sink in the master bedroom was clogged and needed repair.

PNB Ilham resorts in my opinion is brilliantly versatile; it has team building activities set up, near the beach, spectacular view and just 300m walk to Hutan Rekreasi TanjungTuan for a decent hiking experience/trail running. Best of both world! Family friendly too if the plan is to have a family day for our organisations/company. However if we have an elderly who is on wheelchair or walking frame; early information can be done so that the resort can sorts few arrangements to ease our loved ones.
