Hotel: Comfort Inn
Stay: Saturday night
The bed was very comfortable, and the room appeared updated and generally clean. The sheets were clean, and we slept very well overall.
That said, there were several issues that affected our comfort. There was a dehumidifier running in the room, and the carpet felt sticky/gummy, which made me uncomfortable walking barefoot. The thermostat display was partially malfunctioning—some of the digital lines were missing—so it was difficult to tell what temperature it was set to. We couldn’t figure out how to turn the air conditioning up enough, and the room was freezing. We actually slept well because we like a cold room, but in the morning it took a while to figure out how to turn it off.
The bathtub faucet dripped constantly, and there was rust staining running down the tub. While the bathroom appeared generally clean, the rust made it feel a bit creepy, and I didn’t feel comfortable showering there, so I waited until I got home.
Breakfast was disappointing. The bacon was extremely thin and see-through, the eggs were clearly powdered, and the coffee tasted very cheap. To make matters worse, the bottom of my coffee cup fell out, spilling hot coffee in my lap—the cups were very flimsy and tiny. Breakfast overall gets a D- from me.
The breakfast attendant was very sweet, but the rest of the staff seemed uninterested and not particularly friendly—just kind of there.
Overall rating: I’d give this stay a C-. Comfortable bed and clean sheets
