I got there late as I had been driving all day I didn’t see the town etc that day, but have been through Port Augusta many times. I found the property to be delightful.

Most of the motel has alot of great character. Lovely and friendly staff. The price you pay is low but value for money is good especially with air con.

Positives: Good wifi, large room, price. Slept well in the bed. Negatives: The "kitchen" lacked a fridge (freezer only for some reason), no cutlery (bring your own). Does have a microwave and toaster though. Unstaffed at published check-in time, so had to phone and wait ten minutes, apparently 2pm is no longer correct. Bathrooms are huge rooms but then have about the smallest actual shower cubicle I've encountered. With a strange lump under a rug, I finally got curious enough to lift it up to find a bit of rubbish was literally "swept under the rug" at some point. Interesting: It was a lovely old pub, I'd once considered buying something similar to turn into accommodation so was keen to check it out. Strangely, it felt half renovated, with classy furniture in places but then like they'd run out of funds and have things like bedside lamps on a nice table but without any power to actually enable them to work. I'd imagine that the more standard motel rooms downstairs are what earn the more positive reviews as the upstairs guest rooms have so much potential. I wanted to like it, but should have just paid a bit more to stay somewhere far better.

first room we got was unserviced and staff member didn't believe me so had to look for themselves. next room was better but so noisy with traffic and trains and one of the beds kept on moving throughout the night everytime they moved

The room was large and clean. No other amenities. Not very close to many things. Train runs behind the property until 10pm and blows its horn for a level crossing. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, the motel was good.

We love the Pampas.
We have stayed here many times in the past 18 years. The cleanliness is to perfection, as is the friendly service. A shout out to Frank. It has had new owners in the last 12 months and I can report it is still as good as ever. They are doing some improvements. So it should be even better.

n old hotel nicely renovated.
An overnight stop on the way from Adelaide to Port Lincoln this place was convenient. When we got there it was closed with a notice on the door to ring a mobile number that we missed so we came back an hour later.

The Pampas Motel has a long history that goes back to the cart and horse days. It is an interesting place with all the modern comforts that the average traveller requires. I met the former owners and the current owners and they were very friendly people.
