"This hotel was great for our stay in Monteverde. It was a bit removed from the middle of town but close enough. Our tours were only 10-20 mins drive away. Staff were incredibly helpful and even improvised breakfast for a day we had a very early start. "

A true highlight was meeting Gabriel and his father — two of the most gracious, passionate people you’ll ever meet. Their love for the land, the community, and the guest experience shines through in every detail of the resort. Río Perdido is magical in every category: service, nature, activities, food, and atmosphere. We can’t recommend it highly enough and will absolutely be returning."

"A magically unique boutique hotel, actually individual cabins. Everything you could possibly want in a private, romantic and wonderful stay, in an incredibly beautiful location. This property is in the high mountains of Costa Rica, filled with wildlife everywhere you look and listen. If you are looking for a hospital sterile resort, this, or the whole town, is not for you. If you are looking for a unique and romantic experience, among the trees, sunsets, and unbelievable wildlife, there is no better experience or place to be. Roads getting to this paradise in the sky are generally good but as anywhere in Costa Rica, off the National highways can have crater-like potholes, but just part of the beauty and the charm of Costa Rica. This place is magnificent. "

"Cute property with a nice garden, hidden from the huddle and bustle of the town. There is an equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, and clean bathroom. However, the neighborhood dogs get into a shouting match anytime at night so make sure to have earplugs. It was unfortunate because I love the nature sound. "
