While staying in the seaside town of Cattolica, it’s possible to spend a day by the water without going to the beach just visit the Piscina di Cattolica. Nestled in a residential neighborhood to the south of the town center, this large swimming pool is the perfect place to get more confident in the water. Housed in a modern building and full of up-to-date facilities, the pool complex offers opportunities for recreation and exercise for all ages and abilities.

Keep to your workout regimen, even on vacation, by taking an Acquagym class, a water aerobics that is popular with Cattolicans of all ages. Join a Hydrobike lesson, a spin class where the water both increases resistance and acts to reduce the wear and tear on knee joints. Otherwise, try the Tapis Roulant, where instructors coach you through a treadmill workout, all in the pool. Work off your nightly piadina however you like.

Exercise independently during the daily open swim times, when the pool becomes available for lap swimming. Refine your technique for an open water swim in the Adriatic, or paddle leisurely up and down the pool. Take a swimming class, graded for all ages, to build up the confidence to tackle the sea itself. 

The Piscina di Cattolica is located in the southern part of the town, a 10-minute walk or 7-minute bus ride from the main railway station. Walk from the beach in 15 minutes. A bus stop is located nearby that offers connections to the rest of the town and the greater Rimini region. Free parking is located on site. 

The pool is open daily, with open swims generally in the morning and late evenings, and all day on Saturday. Class times vary, so check the website. Discounts are available for seniors, pregnant women and children.
