It’s a dry heat, but it’s still hot. Make sure to get started early enough in the day and drink plenty of water if you plan on hiking in the desert. #desert

We took several hikes at this location and spotted some new birds and really got a great workout. This park appeals to all hikers from seasoned climbers to novice hikers and mountain bike enthusiasts. make sure you take plenty of water and stay on the trails. This is a Gambels Quail which is common in the park. You will probably hear them before you see them.
The state bird of Arizona this Cactus Wren was very social and gave us great views. It is larger than the wrens I am used to seeing in Illinois.
