Jim and Andrea are wonderful people. We really enjoyed our stay.
The Old Bear exceeded my old expectations: the lovely location, the comfortable and homely room, the warm and hospitable hosts, the superb home-cooked breakfast and goodies, and the proximity to a great restaurant for cocktails and dinner. We would love to come back some day.
We wanted to escape the heat and it worked well…Adriana and Jim are really nice hosts. The room comes cosy and very clean, a wonderful breakfast included.
The hosts were fabulous—friendly and accommodating. You feel like you are part of the family and that you are the most special guests they have ever had. Comfortable beds. You do share a bathroom but that was never a problem.

The Old Big Bear BnB exudes wonderful country charm. Adriana and Jim are the most engaging and welcoming hosts, truly opening their home to guests with genuine warmth. Breakfast was a delicious, hot home-cooked meal — a far cry from your typical continental fare. While the property could benefit from some maintenance both inside and out, the unique character of each room reflects the hosts’ personalities and heartfelt hospitality. This property has tremendous potential to serve the surrounding community, with its spacious backyard making it ideal for hosting personal events, parties, and more. It’s that personal touch, charm and personalities that makes this place special.
We were looking for somewhere to stay between Mountain View and Palm Springs, that was not in Bakersfield. This was a lovely B&B with very charming hosts. Delicious breakfast with homemade French toast and lemon cake.
Our room was a good size with windows that opened. The bathroom was down the hall, but it worked out. We enjoyed walking after dinner in this quiet town. We will stay there again.
Beautiful home in a beautiful part of California's Los Padres national Forrest. Owners are very friendly. Within walking distance of food and a general store. The rooms and house are clean, cozy, up to date and well kept. The view of the stars is second to none.
