"First off, the check in clerk barely spoke English. The entry was not very clean. We made our way to our room, and it smelled very bad. We opened our window and let it air out while we were gone to the rodeo and dance. We came back to find that the doors are locked after midnight, which is understandable given the neighborhood. We pressed the buzzer several times expecting someone to open the door for us, but that didnt happen for over 20 minutes. Thankfully I was able to access my vehicle to get a blanket so my friend didnt freeze. While we were waiting, we got to be entertained by a local drunk/meth addict which did not feel like something I wanted to witness. Overall, for almost $300 for one night, I expected a smidgen better"
"The elevators are a mess. Be prepared to take the stairs. The room didn’t get very cool at night even with the temperature set to the lowest setting.
Breakfast. Oh my. On Saturday we got there 25 mins after “open” and they had to come unlock the door for us. None of the food was ready and the pancake machine wouldn’t work. On Sunday the lineup was half way through the restaurant, kids were running everywhere, long wait for items to be replaced and there was limited seating so we had to sit in the lobby."
"You have to join the Hilton Honor Club to get free wifi. So if you’re like me and don’t care to have a membership at every hotel chain you stay at, either be prepared to go without or pay. (We went without) The staff member at the front desk was the only one working at 4:00 when people were checking in so was too busy to assist with wifi. Really didnt know much when we asked for a work around. Otherwise great hotel, but many other options in the area."
"Did not have the room advertised and paid for and instead had a double room on second floor. As I'm an amputee with one leg this was incredibly inconvient. Because I had already paid for room options were limited. The hotel is under renovations and not overly clean areas nor did we feel the room had been cleaned. Wouldn't stay here again"
"Not hotels fault, very loud people running down the stairs, very much rude people problem. The hot tub wasn't open. Breakfast was excellent. Felt safe in hotel and overall a good place to stay when in Red Deer."
"What a great stay at the Western Budget. The room was a great deal, super clean and very well taken care of. We t was also quite large, with a small dining table & 2 chairs, plus 2 casual chairs and a desk area. The fridge was full sized, which was appreciated. Would stay here again."
