Sadly the floors are not washed well. Same drop of blood was there after 5 days when I left. Never smelled cleaners or disinfectant...just seen dirty mop and reused rags. The mould in the showers is NASTY. The young fellas do an ok job with what they have but they need to invest in some thorough time to clean...disenfect. The pool as well...😬.
Staff was polite. Capsule size was adequate. Can afford to have more cloth hangers in the capsule. There’s a small cupboard for you to lock impt belongings in. Small ventilator in capsule makes it stuffy at times. Washer and dryer available for 20 and 10b respectively. Capsule was a bit sandy. Female toilet no toilet paper during the entire 3 nights stay. Cleanliness can be improved but still adequate. Location was good, great restaurant named Kunjeed Radnayodpak Noodle Fish on the street behind.

Good location in Phuket Town. Right by some nices cafes, restaurants and bars.
Private room was a good size but poor lighting and cold showers.
There was also a lot of construction work going on starting at 7am which was not ideal.
The rooftop pool was fantastic however.

I had a lot of trouble with the staff. When I checked in she said she didn’t have my reservation & she asked me to pay for my room again. I explained I had already payed for the room and I showed her my reservation on my Expedia app & she said she couldn’t find it &I should pay again.
Then she asked me for a key deposit which was fine but I wanted a receipt when giving cash. I bought everything on Expedia and I had no trouble anywhere else I stayed getting receipts. Ultimately she refused to give me a receipt. I used google translate to make sure she understood what I was asking and I was still denied one.
Then I asked another young lady behind the desk if I could use their landline to call and get a pick up time for my day trip. She seemed helpful but she told me the wrong pickup time. Luckily I was waiting downstairs 20 min early so I didn’t miss my bus.
I asked if I could leave my bag there until 3p as I had schedule a snorkeling trip for the day and they said I could leave it in the lobby sitting in the corner near the front door. And to me this didn’t sound safe.
I would say if you’re backpacking just skip Borbaboom. It’s not worth the trouble.
I ended up getting a room around the corner at Feel Good Hostel and they were incredible. She allowed me to shower and held my bag in a locker until 4pm. She even ended up driving me to the bus station. If i had to do it again I’d stay at Feel Good Hostel instead. Feel Good hostel was beyond superb.
I would give Borbaboom 10 stars if I could. Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed at and the owners are working on making it even better. Pool on the roof is amazing, especially in the early evening. Everything about the hostel screams quality. Staff are super friendly. I stayed in a 'pod' for most of my stay which was great for some privacy. I planned to stay 1 night but as I liked the hostel and Old Phuket Town so much I stayed for 5 nights. If i was to make one suggestion it would be to have soap/shampoo dispensers in the showers. The hostel set up a water station outside for the Songkran festival and soaking passers by was one of the highlights of my trip! P.s. best pool table I have found in Thailand so far.
