「Clean, friendly staff.」

「This was a very budget friendly hotel. You can clearly tell that they had been doing some renovations. Our room was spacious. The bathroom sink was stained and our floors needed a good sweeping from the floors being done. The breakfast was very good and that room was very clean. Overall we got what we paid for and it was fine for the weekend.」

After the front desk walked up to check a room tried to give us a 2 double bed room and I paid for a king. We stayed Sat-Tue, and it’s important to know that many local/regional restaurants are not open Mon/Tue (not sure about Sunday, we had a picnic). 「It was -12 on Portage Lake and we cranked the heat pump up to 75. The Birds Nest cabin needs another heat source. Upstairs was cold when we got back at 10:30 pm after leaving the heat on all day in the cabin.The two full size beds that are pictured is one that’s on the bottom of a metal bunk bed frame and the other is upstairs where the roof is pitched so one side has no head room to accommodate two grown adults.New owners shut the water off for the winter.
