Trereife was easy to find, and as we drove up to the home, it looks like a movie set - the garden, the horses, the home! The owner greeted us warmly, shared the history of the home, and showed us to our spacious room. The antiques and details of the home are wonderful. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The bathroom is a little worn, but it's in a 300 year old house, so it met my expectations. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and he enjoyed chatting with the owner's son. The entire stay felt very Jane Austen-esque!
Charming and comfortable apartment located in a cottage in the exclusive grounds of a breath-takingly beautiful old country house just a few minutes by car from Newlyn/Mousehole/Penzance. The kitchenette offered everything we needed for a two-night stay (although we were out all day and chose to eat out in Penzance in the evening) and we appreciated the separate children’s bedroom and two bathrooms. Our helpful hosts on site in Trereife House were unobtrusive and we were grateful for the list of recommended local restaurants and sights they provided. Lovely people and a unique, delightful place to stay - we look forward to returning soon.
Lovely, clean & warm. Apartment us full of character and the beds v comfy. More cooking equipment (e.g. a frying pan!!) please and check lights work

The owners were friendly, conversational and helpful, and clearly loved the historic house and grounds. They were able to offer advice on the locality, places to eat, etc. The house is best described by the term “faded elegance” but we liked that, it felt quite other-worldly.
Niggles were small, e.g. no toiletries which one has come to expect and necessitated a run to the shops - but we’ll know for next time.
A beautifully kept period property with really nice, warm and welcoming hosts. We, our five year old daughter thoroughly loved the stay at Trereife House.
The cooked breakfast is really good, and the gives a nice felling in being in a part of a historic house with nice traditions , and you get to hear old stories as well. The hosts were kind enough to end us some blankets and pillows when we went to the Minack theatre in the evening,(believe me, you will very well need them , even in the August summer evenings at Minack). Hugely recommend this place, for a family stay.
We had the pleasure of a two night stay. It is a very impressive historic building. There is a beautiful garden to stroll around. It looks as good as it does in the photos. It's quite breathtaking when you drive up towards the house itself. There is ample parking space. Tim and son Peter were both very welcoming hosts. They also put on an excellent breakfast. The house location is perfectly situated (if you travel by car) to explore any of the coast, landmarks or attractions in the area. I would most definitely stay again the next time I visit Cornwall.
This is a beautiful B&B with very friendly staff. We recieved a phone call before our arrival to help us find the location, we were given good advice on where to go, and yhey lent us some pillows and a blanket for when we went to the Minack.
The cooked breakfast was amazing, the beds were supper comfy, and it was only a 2 minute drive to some lovely eateries.
The hotel was beautiful with lovely friendly staff who have no idea how to manage a hotel - dirt in rooms, boiling hot water coming out of the cold taps, taps breaking, windows not closing or being able to be opened, nowhere to plug in phone charger except on the floor, no full length mirror, no spare bedding just 2 thin old pillows and a thick duvet on a hot night, the offer on the phone previously to put on a light super was then recinded - they only mentioned a local Chinese takeaway which was not what we wanted. It took them half an hour and a lot of prompting to heat a croissant at breakfast. We checked out early as they were so useless.
If you ever wondered what it's like to live in an old manor house, here's your chance. The family who own and live in it have lived in it for a zillion generations. It hasn't been taken over by new people and modernised. This means that the house retains charm and character - cobwebs and sloping floors are exactly what you'd want from a place like this and it's what you get. Our room and bed was huge, full of antique furniture. It was clean and warm. We had a separate private bathroom with bath, shower and loo. The owners were charming, serving homemade fresh bread daily and their own jellies at breakfast. Well situated for Land's End and St Ives. Highly recommended.
We had a warm welcome, a comfortable stay with a very good night's sleep, and a very good breakfast with friendly service at this very impressive-looking B&B property. The interior perhaps has a slightly faded glory in places, but this didn't detract from our pleasant one-night stay.
This is not a hotel, but is even better. It is a lovely and interesting old country house providing excellent B&B facilities, situated just over a mile from Newlyn. It is within easy reach of the larger town of Penzance and about 9 miles from Lands End.The hosts are charming and provided any information of the locality including suggestions as to restaurants etc. Room was comfortable and cosy. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice. The house is set in large grounds with a walled garden. It has a fascinating history which the owners are only too happy to impart their knowledge. I would stay there again.
Lovely old b&b located within Trereife house. Run by the family who have owned it for generations. We were upgraded to their largest room on arrival, a great gesture which really impressed us.
We received very warm welcome. Because we arrived very late, the owner himself drove us to the nearest restaurant to have dinner, which was quite kind of him. The room is quite comfortable and clean. And the garden is quite beautiful.

Top level comfort
Wonderful comfort staying in the apartment - one of the best night's sleep I have had in a long time. Although the apartment could do with some maintenance, it was perfect for our needs. The owner, Tim, came out to meet us from the main house personally, and his son Ben came and showed us to the apartment, and then we were left to make ourselves at home, which was just what we wanted.
Stayed for one night, but could have stayed for longer. Received a warm friendly welcome, was well looked after. The house was surrounded by a lot of interesting history. The bedroom was massive and warm, the bed was extremely comfortable. Was treated like royalty and would recommend this to anyone. Absolutely loved it.
Had a great welcome. Stayed in an apartment in the courtyard and was expecting it to be really old and smelly but was really surprised with how modern yet classic the bedrooms were. I would easily stay again when down that way.
