A gem of a place

This is a gem of a place hidden away in a quiet village. The property is really stunning and has so many old features. We were given a warm welcome with tea and fresh scones and cookies. The wish to make our stay an enjoyable and comfy one was at the forefront. Even down to my little 8 year old borrowing a teddy for bed because she forgot hers. We stayed a few days and felt quite at home. In the evening we spent time in the large lounge area with the biggest fire place and played games. No chance of boring custard creams here...the cookies were fresh and ever so moreish - be warned! The place was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was a large comfortable space. With plenty sockets or USB charging points, good WiFi and a good phone signal, we had everything we needed for the computer and phone. Another thing I have to mention in the bed rooms was it had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Gave for a good nights sleep. We loved it so much we will definitely be back.

Exceptional Hall in the Eden Valley/Lake District

Outstanding and beautiful place to stay. Exceptionally clean and hygienic following Covid guidelines, so felt very safe. Delicious breakfasts using locally sourced or homemade produce. Gorgeous big lounge with fire to relax and eat homemade scones and jam. Beautiful and extremely comfortable room and en suite with lovely toiletries. Attention to detail was second-to-none. The Eden Valley is a beautiful and often overlooked part of Cumbria/the Lake District. The location is rural but with easy access to Penrith/Shap, the M6, the A66 and the Lake District. Can not recommend highly enough.

A brilliant stay albeit only for one night after a three week road trip around Scotland. A very comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast, and very welcoming hostess. Thank you. We hope to be back for a longer stay next time.

A little gem.

We spent one night at Low Hall on our drive north to Edinburgh and wished we could have stayed longer. The house was full of history and filled with ornaments and souvenirs that came from all over the world. The decor was tasteful and in keeping with the period of the house. The bedroom furniture and furnishings were of high quality and very comfortable. The garden was beautifully landscaped and a delight to look out on. Liz and Matt were perfect hosts and we look forward to staying with them again. Thank you for looking after us so well.

a night in the Lake District

Low Hall is by far the best B and B type accommodation I've ever stayed in. The place is intersting, extremely comfortable and the Hosts could not have been more helpful. I'd give it 5 stars if such a classification exists.

Liz made us welcome at a moderately late hour, and our stay showed that much thought has gone into providing an excellent level of service . The decor of our bedroom was interesting and appropriate to the age of the building. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. The breakfast was plentiful and of a high standard.

Wonderfully peaceful stay in a lovely old house

The friendly and helpful owner greeted us with delicious home made scones and biscuits in the lounge. There were books available for reading and a warm fire. Bedroom one has the most comfortable bed I have slept in. The shower and bath accessories were excellent as was the breakfast. We wished we had stayed longer.

Absolutely Beautiful Hotel

Low Hall is a hidden gem. The location is in a tiny hamlet which has easy access to nearby gastro pubs and not too far from northern Lakes. Great care has been taken in the restoration and decoration of this historic building and every effort was made to make us feel welcome. There was a roaring fire, very luxurious beds and rooms were well supplied with all the amenities of a five star hotel. The breakfast was excellent. We plan on returning for a longer stay.

Lovely Historic Building in Rural Location

Beautiful building in small village. The room was large, spacious and well furnished. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and provided advice on available locations for an evening meal. All of them were a few miles away, as it was located in a small village. Good breakfast too. The owner made contact a few days before the visit and provided a link with additional directions. The directions were very helpful and necessary as just using the post code on my sat nav would not have got me there.

Great hidden gem. Very nice.

I booked this twin room as a last moment, only place available booking. So was nervous on what to expect. What I found, was a lovely little place , with a great late night welcome, a great room (although very warm) and a lovely breakfast. Impressed

What a wonderful B&B

The hosts for this bed and breakfast are the best hosts I've ever encountered, friendly and accommodating to all of my needs. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and full of character. Not to mention the 5* cooked breakfasts. I will definitely be visiting again
