"I unfortunately had 2 nights that the room next to me was very loud and blasted music at 4:30 in the morning Security came after an hour but I was already awake"

Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain

"The Overlook is outdated, as stated by a few past guests however it was very clean throughout. I think if they added a fresh coat of paint to all the doors it would make it feel more inviting. Our room was quite spacious. The Overlook is not where the Inn is - that is where you have to check in first and their cafe, gift shop and restaurant are all there. We ate dinner at 1915 - food was very good! Our waitress, Debbie, was wonderful. Walking around Lake Hessian was a delight and added bonus for us to enjoy. We stayed here after visiting the Outlets at Woodbury Commons, and met our needs."

"Extremely run down!!!! Wallpaper was peeling in my room, bathroom vanity was in rough shape, tub was old, and the carpet was disgustingly gross!!!! Mattress seemed real old. Extremely disappointed for a Hampton inn!!!! Sidewalk is literally crumbling. Didn’t even have a diet soda for me to purchase. The eggs were like rubber pancakes."

"This hotel should not be operating in its current condition. The issue was not with the staff, who were polite, but with the state of the property itself and the apparent lack of ownership or management. The hotel felt neglected, poorly maintained, and unsafe. My first room was not properly cleaned or vacuumed. Several lamps were not working, and there were insects in the room. After I requested to be moved, I was assigned a second room, where I found visible mold on the curtains. The air in both rooms felt dirty, humid, and unhealthy. The gym had a notice posted regarding hazardous and unhealthy conditions, which was alarming. To make matters worse, it is nearly impossible to contact the hotel. None of the phone numbers appeared to work, and there was no reliable way to reach management for assistance. The overall property gave the impression of being abandoned and lacking proper oversight. I was so uncomfortable with the conditions that I left shortly after being moved to the second room and booked another hotel. Expedia and travelers should seriously reconsider listing this property until significant improvements are made and proper management is put in place. I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances."

"Worst hotel stay ever … you can skip this one. A few bright notes: evening receptionist was accommodating and a pleasure to work with; external grounds were immaculate with plenty of parking; entrance lobby was clean and inviting. The three rooms I looked at were clean but smelled funky. All had interior damage. (One had blood spatter on the pulldown shade!) The third room (cleanest smell) had a damaged shower curtain rod, no official room label (hand-written on the wall) and the door didn’t close properly (One had to push it shut!) On the second/third floors, the smell of cigarettes and smoked meth emanating from several rooms, with uncollected trash left outside individual doors. I took a shower and slept in my vehicle."
