"Excellent location with generous double room facing the sea. Staff worked on our behalf with enthusiasm, efficiency and good humour always. We enjoyed perfectly prepared meals in a relaxing setting with characterful references reminiscent of Beer’s fishing heritage. The building was tired, externally and internally."

"The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. Whilst eating our delicious breakfast each morning we were entertained with music from Steve's extensive vinyl collection, which was a really good start to each day. Our room was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed, and all we needed for relaxing after a day's sightseeing. Parking wasn't a problem as they register your car to park for free in the local car park which is about 50yds away. There are several good places to eat in the village, not least the Kingfisher pub, and a couple of convenience stores. We honestly can't recommend you stay there enough."

"Parking was right outside but you have to pay. Slow service for check in and the man already waiting for assistance said he’d been there 10 minutes! We couldn’t even get a bowl of chips from the restaurant and were made to feel bad because we didn’t prebook. Plus 8pm was the time you could get a meal which is very late for many. The room smelt musty, bathroom fan didn’t work, no fridge, loo roll almost out etc"
