Great stay would come again!
Loved our stay! The breakfast was a full breakfast amazing! Multiple choices! We had an early flight so would have missed it but they had the kitchen box one up for us so we could pick it up at 4AM for our flight! Pool was beautiful! Relaxing place and very close to restaurants!

Beautiful property
The hotel is small and intimate. Our cottage faced the garden and pool but had a sea view as well. The location is OK. Our taxi took us all the way to reception, but if you dont have a motorbike it's a bit of a walk to the restaurants on the busy main road - no sidewalks there. You can walk to Thomas beach back up off the main road, down a very long, steep stairway. The room is large and very comfortable. The staff are excellent! Desi and the others took great care of our every need. The AC was making noise but they repaired it as soon as possible. Beware, however, there is a popular beach club next door and one night they held a massive party until midnight. The hotel tried to warn us via email after we booked but we did not read it in time to change the booking. They comped us dinner. The restaurant has a limited menu but everything we ordered was excellent. Highly recommend Uluwatu Cottages. Contact the hotel directly, not through the hotel app, to see if there will be a party next door before booking.

This place has potential. Great service and decent food, plus great location. Pool also nice. The rooms need updating and some TLC. Had an issue with the door right away, where it wasn’t lining up properly to lock, but staff immediately helped and fixed it. The shower… I’ll just say the rooms need updating. The safes need to be bigger for laptops.

The view from the property is stunning, right on the cliff's edge and the staff are amazing, helpful and so friendly. However, the property and rooms in particular are quite run down. We had stained, dirty sheets and filthy floors and walls. Also, there are massive gaps between the sliding villa doors and the outside world (there is no seal on the doors) so all kinds of creatures can enter your room - We had a snake greet us at the front door, coming out of our room as we returned after the day out, staff had to kill it on our door step. The worst part though, Ulu Cliffhouse is directly next door so if you get a room backing onto Ulu Cliffhouse, you will have to deal with unbearable bass and music/noise from the club until all hours of the evening. We ended up checking out 3 days early and finding another property as we couldn't stand the noise after 1 night. If you're after a quiet stay, try and request a room away from Ulu Cliffhouse or choose another property. I cannot stress how lovely and approachable the staff were though.

The property is in a good location with a great view over the cliff. It's walking distance to Blue Point area, and directly next to Ulu Cliffhouse. I was in a Suite room - everything was decent, clean, and the space / layout was good. BUT: The first thing you should note is that most top reviews are from 2018 or prior. We stayed friday, saturday and sunday. The entire trip we were blasted with music from the Cliffhouse next door. The bass is enough to shake the windows and the music isn't turned down till about midnight. Ear plugs are required and even then you can't escape. Do not expect a relaxing afternoon by the pool. The pool was down for maintenance the entire stay. I understand these things happen, but there was zero communication about when or if it would be rectified. We went to use the pool on day two and were told it was being cleaned and could be used in 1.5hrs. After the person was done vacuuming we were told the pool wouldn't be usable that day. If they had told us, we would have gone to another pool earlier. There was also no compensation of any kind for not being able to use the amenities that we paid for. My room sprung a massive leak on the last day - to where there was standing water in the room. This was from heavy rain. There again was no direct rectification of the problem. I had to ask for another room to use until checkout and even that went back and forth before I was given one.

The location was a perfect base to explore Uluwatu. If you are here to surf the big wave, this is the place to stay. The grounds are rooms are so beautiful! It is better than I had expected (we were in suite 28). The pool was splendid and the food was great too.

Quaint cosy place with a spectacular cliffside view of the ocean. Breakfast food was average to minimal but getting food outside can be tough as the hotel is quite a distance from the main road and shops are far apart from each other along a hilly road. Best form of transportation is by scooter or car rental as the only other option is the overpriced taxi service in partnership with the hotel. Despite that, my stay would have been pleasant if the hotel didnt require me to change rooms after my first night. Before my stay, they emailed me that it was due to some upgrading renovations to the bathrooms and I had requested them if they can make arrangements that I don't have to switch rooms but I did not receive any reply. Fast forward to my second day at the hotel, a clerk knocks at my door informing that I need to leave my current suite into another because there were guests that were checking in. Seriously?! Why can't the new guests stay in the other vacant suite and why is there a discrepancy in the reasons for my move? The clerk replied that it's common practice to swap guests in the case of their limited number of rooms being fully booked. She went on to explain that the original room I was in was their Premium Suite as a sign of goodwill for the inconvenience and that the room I'm moving to was the actual suite that I had booked. I requested to speak with the manager but he was not in at the moment - nor for the remainder of my stay. I will not return to this hotel.

Beautiful but noisy.
This whole place is beautiful, and the room was wonderful, but I would not stay here again. My husband and I stayed on the side of the property that is the furthest away from the Cliff House, but he still couldn't sleep at night until their loud music stopped (between 10 pm and midnight), even with earplugs on. Their windows and doors should be upgraded to reduce the noise coming from the CliffHouse.

we had a great 9 night stay recently, beautiful location and stunning views very friendly and helpful staff, the only issue is the place next door has an event on Sunday nights so it gets very noisy but we were given free entry and and a drink for it so it helped, it finishes around midnight

The most amazing views of sunset and sunrise in quaint little cottages. Overpriced for what you get compared to many other places in Uluwatu but an experience. Needs a major overhaul of bathrooms, common areas and the gardens nearest the cliff edge. Not so safe for children so keep an eye on them near the cliffs edge

We stayed at the Uluwatu Cottages for 3 nights at the start of our trip and we wished we could stay longer! We loved waking up to that amazing cliff top view everyday and the pool was so warm! The staff were so helpful and friendly and it was in the perfect location. So close to padang padang beach and the villa we are getting married at next year. We will defiantly be recommending the cottages to our friends and family to stay in next year!

Small hotel, traditional values - best in class!
This hidden gem is a little off the main road overlooking the sea from the clifftop...infinity pool is small yet perfect for the size of the hotel. Restaurant is great for good food at good prices. Staff are super friendly and service is prompt and attentive. A definite recommendation for this one!

Check in was slow with no information provided. The pool is nice, which is literally the only highlight. Food was simple, bland, and overpriced. Rooms are sterile for Bali, we had the suite room. Neighbor club blasts music all night long, making it impossible to sleep. We had an early tour one morning and locked our room. Upon return 12 hours later door room was unlocked and cleaned and money was missing. I should have put in safe. However , upon reporting to the hotel, I rewrote them and got a rather negative and accusatory email. I did not ask or want for anything, just told them they should relock doors and what happened. Nor did i accuse them of taking it. It was an awful experience.

Dear Jon, Thank you for your review, we do really appreciate. Our check in time is 2 pm and check out is 12 pm. you were coming around 11 am and the room was not ready yet as the guest who supposed to be check out that date was not leave the room yet and we have apologized to you due to that situation. Once room ready we have put your luggage in the room and escort you to the room. We are sorry to hear about your loosing money, you did not blame our staff has stolen it and we also did not blame you if you pretended of loosing your money. You emailed us said you were going to report it to the police and we were ready to testify to this case then you said you will not report it to the police and we got confused what do we need to do to make there's no more suspicion among us as we were opened since 7 years ago and this is the first case of stolen money happen. Your room was unlocked when our house keeping came to clean, they thought you were at the pool area and they did not lock it after cleaned. That was our fault in this case "did not lock the room after cleaned" but they did not take anything from your room. They have been working here since 6 years ago and we believed they will not do that bad thing. Once again we do apologize for any inconvenience during your stay and we appreciate your feedback and we will improve our services to make sure all of our guest leaved with satisfaction. 3 nights over Christmas
My review is in consideration of the price that we paid to stay here over Christmas, for 3 nights. The price of AUD$103 per night was extremely good value for what you get for your money - lovely poolside gazebos to lay around on, a clean and comfortable room, spectacular views over the clifftop to the ocean and the rest of Bali and breakfast included. There are massages only a few minutes walk away, bars, restaurants, etc. They provide your room with a mosquito repellant that you plug into the wall, the wifi was good and the gardens well maintained. The bathroom was nothing spectacular but we didn't care as it's not that important. It was mostly adults staying which was what we were looking for - didn't want to listen to / deal with people's kids on our adult Christmas holiday. We would recommend it to any travelling couples who want some peace and quiet.
