COVID-19 has affected how the world works in ways big and small, including our approach to travel. The following tips will help you understand these new challenges and prepare you for your flight to Pearl Islands:

• Research what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check in advance.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to temporarily lower your mask for identification purposes.
• To reduce the risk of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA officer.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. You'll need to remove it for X-ray scanning.
• Empty everything from your pocket, like your phone and wallet, and put them in your carry-on rather than the bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• If you're planning to take food through the screening checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a scanning bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to handle your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
