Great stay. The location on the beach was ideal. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. Staff were hospitable. I wish we could have stayed for more than one night.

On the beach with awesome view of the beach. Pool also available. There was no hot water, stained ceiling tiles in bathroom and 1st sleeping area. Hair still in the shower when we arrived. AC outside unit dented with exposed metal ends.

Our check in process was quick and easy. The lady that checked us in was very kind. However, the pool was wild and noisy until 11 PM. Our son couldn’t even get into the pool because there was no room. There was a puddle of water where you walks in from the beach that you had to step in or leap over. It was very gross looking. We had no warm water in our shower and barely a little stream of water pressure. The outdoor shower by the pool had more pressure than ours. The sliding door didn’t lock. The room was old and a little sketchy, but was good enough for a quick trip. I wouldn’t stay here again.

It was nasty. It had cockroaches. The sliding glass door wouldn’t lock. The mattresses were old and wore out. They went down in a hole in the middle. Didn’t have any skillets. Didn’t supply any paper towels and no broom in the room. Had to go borrow it from the office. The bathroom sink wouldn’t hardly drain. The only thing this place had going for it was the beach. I would not recommend this place and I will not stay there again. Stayed in July 2025. The ladies at the front desk were very nice.

The hotel room was not ready for hours after check in time. Room was DIRTY. Pee on the toilet & sand on the floors. Next later in the night we get back after drinking to cold showers. They did not fix the showers or offer a new room after complaining. With no options available to rebook this weekend we stayed. After complaining a 4th time about the entire mess i was offered half off my FIRST NIGHT. I have no idea how the rating here was 8/10. Cherry on top the staff lied and said we were the only room with cold water anyone that was not true after talking to other guests. Save your vacation do not stay here.

GROSS, tv speakers was busted, air conditioning did not cool the room even at night, the staff acted like they would not be upset if they were stuck with those conditions themselves. Also, once we arrived, the sheets had sand all over them. There’s no way they prepared, clean bedding if once we got there, there was sand already all over the sheets. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN FOR FREE. Balcony chair was broken also. Very ran down hotel.

They need to completely renovate the whole hotel and all amenities. Then hire people that knows how to smile, be courteous, and being helpful. It’s dirty and NO BREAKFAST!

We liked the split accommodation, but it only had one tv ,and it didn't work very well. AC was great, but there was a 1 inch gap under balcony door, that would let in bugs,critters and hot air, we stuffed walmart bags in gaps. The tub had large Crack in it and there was only one little trash can in bathroom, that's it ,had to get a trash bag from housekeeping. The kitchen area was nice, but, limited supplies ,no salt or pepper, no paper towels, and No hand soap in bathroom or kitchen. The beds were decent, lots of pillows, pretty comfy. We won't be staying again , unless they do a renovation, it could be a real nice place , needs updating TLC , a good spring cleaning would do wonders. Outside parking area ,there was trash about.

Absolutely awful! Minus 4 Stars!! The room was old smelly ! Bed uncomfortable. Ceiling coming down in the bathroom from water damage! Noisy. We were right in front of elevator, and beside the pool pump. The exterior of building was in need of repairs. Totally misrepresented on website. The cost doesn’t match the Quality. The water was out for a couple of hours on Friday. The Alarm went off for 20-30 mins. No hot water for shower on Saturday evening nor Sunday morning. The parking is ridiculous. Not enough spaces. We had to park in a dirt parking lot across the street very dangerous. Really an awful situation experience and we will never stay there again

The staff was absolutely kind and helpful. We noticed some damage around the building and saw they were doing work from recent storms but our room was beautiful . This was such a great place to relax and enjoy the beach. Will definitely be back

I booked my room in advance. When we got there at check-in time, I was told they could not issue room keys because their system was down and to come back later. After returning, we were finally issued room keys. Go up to the room and find it's occupied by someone else! Go back to the front desk and they said they had no idea who was in the room. After about an hour, they finally said they had no other rooms available! So I was forced to find another place to stay at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Sugar Sands would not even give a cash refund to help find another location, despite their errors. One whole evening of our vacation was wasted. It was a terrible experience.

Room was spacious and had everything we needed. View from the balcony was beautiful. Beach access was easy and not crowded. We did not use the pool but it appeared clean and nice. Rooms are only cleaned every 3 days, so quite a bit of sand can accumulate. The room isnt luxurious but for the price and area, we were very satisfied. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
