Such a beautiful property. We had an ocean view. Very clean and comfortable unit. Lovely patio and beautiful surroundings. We didn’t need the air conditioning (extra cost) with the fan and the ocean breeze we were completely comfortable sleeping. We hope to return someday for a longer visit.

Nice budget friendly part of the world in South part of the big Island. Very neat and tidy accommodation. Good bed. Quiet place. Access to punaluhulu black sand beach for an easy walk to see the turtles. Staff friendly. It is dated but def neat and tidy and we could have stayed an extra couple of nights. Worth the stop.

Fantastic! Hidden paradise!!! Our room had a nice view of the ocean! Plenty of parking and very clean rooms. We stayed in one of the one bedroom units and it had plenty of space for our family of 4. Loved having laundry in the unit as well!

We have stayed at the colony I at sea mountain in pahala twice. We absolutely love this place, the people are veey nice and make you feel at home. I love the privacy and how quite it is. Its also a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can see the green sea trutles.

This is our fourth trip to Colony 1 at Sea Mount. We stayed there in order to get to the volcano when it was erupting. It worked out well since the condo is about 30 minutes from the volcano. The unit was well taken care of, the kitchen was nice to have so we could make breakfast, since there is no restaurant on site. The bed was comfortable. It was nice to have a clothes washer too.

Quiet, beautiful ocean view and near to Volcano N.P. and beautiful black sand beach. Restaurants and grocery stores are limited but we just stopped in Hilo for provisions, made some nice dinners in the full kitchen and ate on the pato watching the sun set over the Pacific. Wonderful location if you want to experience rural Hawaii.

I only stayed one night, but it was perfect. The location is walking distance to the Black Sand beach and the unit we stayed in had a lovely patio with a view of the ocean. Everything was clean and the property was very quiet.

We had a wonderful stay! The unit was beautiful, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway and great staff. The backyard sitting area was a real highlight—grilling steaks on the Weber while watching the waves roll in was such a memorable experience. The only minor downside was that the air conditioning was limited to a portable unit in the bedroom, so it could get a bit warm in the kitchen and living area, especially on more humid days. That said, the bedroom stayed cool for sleeping, and the overall comfort of the space more than made up for it. The location, views, and overall value were fantastic—and the price was very reasonable for everything we got. We’d absolutely love to return if we get the chance!

Loved the quiet, low key property. Very restful for a refreshing get away. Hardly used the air conditioner as the condo was set up with good cross ventilation. Good base to visit all the attractions on the island. Also, has minimal VOG when the volcano was erupting.
