We choose to stay at this property as it gave us an overview of a working farm in Oudtshoorn. We stayed in a two bedroom modular home which was extremely quiet and nestled along the river. We did not have dinner there but did have breakfast. It was very good with a lot of options both cold and hot.

Lovely place with relaxed vibe. Very friendly staff. Kids loved the animals and open spaces. Close to Cango caves and multiple activities within 10km. Great place for family!

Surprise gem

The location and grounds were stunning and incredibly well kept. The children had lots of green space to play and explore and be up close with the animals. Our deck was expansive which made for lovely evenings watching the sun go down behind the hills and the sky change colour. The beds were incredibly comfortable which was a pleasant surprise as we have bad backs and often struggle to sleep while travelling. While the decor was an older fashioned style, everything was in pristine condition and the cleaning staff were lovely.

Beautiful location with lots of wildlife to see, and good food in the main restaurant. Expedia listing is inaccurate however, as many amenities listed were not available. Missing amenities: Game Room, Kids Club, Coffee Shop, Arcade, Lazy River, Mountain Biking, Supervized Children's Activities, Soundproofed Rooms, and the Zipline was broken. Additionally, spelunking and rock climbing are available in the area, but not at the property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at old Mill. We were in one of the tents which have air conditioning, which was nice since it was a little warm and it was on the river driving by the other places I think we made the right choice. Dinner was fantastic My only complaint is they say it’s working ostrich farm so I was really looking forward to seeing and interacting with ostriches. They had four that you could feed mind you. They bite a little lol and 20 or so as you leave. Besides that great place

Perfect venue to unwind

Old Mill Lodge was perfect for our purpose, serene, relaxing in a beautiful setting perfectly maintained by passionate and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and ambience of the venue. Felt very and slept like baby every, which I seldom do.

We loved our room overlooking the dam. The decor was modern and the room attractive and clean. The restaurant was also excellent and the site convenient to all the attractions we wished to visit including Cango caves. We would definitely choose to stay there again

The location is very nice and clean. The breakfast is not really worth taking it. Youth hostel quality. Far away from 4 stars hotel. For the second day we decided to go to Buffelsdrift nearby and pay for it, even when it was already in our package.

Loved the convenience of pulling our car right to our room. The staff and the grounds are wonderful. The bed was probably the worst ever. We put anything we could underneath us for some padding. It was like cardboard. The restaurant is lovely. Our room was a luxury waterfront room. It was perfectly adequate I’d call it rustic, not luxury.

Amazing short getaway on the farm !

We had an amazing stay at Old Mill! Very clean, well looked after, great for stay with kids. Bunnies, trampolines, playground for kids to keep them busy .. Great location for ostrich farm visit and caves.

If you are looking to relax with the kids, this is the place. Plenty to keep young children busy and safe, they especially enjoyed the bunnies and zip line. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.

Gem outside Oudtshoorn

Fantastic service all-round. Dinner was magnificent and service from Coke and Ruben was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious (even with load-shedding). Our chalet was very comfortable and the bed was outstanding. Will definitely be back.

This was very basic but its location explains part of its lack of modern conveniences. However, they should get a decent wifi (the reception was awful and I don’t they should claim to be able offer it). The beds were not the best either.

Bruiners Family vacation in Oudshoorn

It was amazing. The management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Very clean units and comfortable. Great breakfast. Awesome entertainment for the children, including animals on the premises. Highly recommended. We will definitely visit this place soon.
