We specifically booked for Canada Day, and it was the biggest let-down; No view of fireworks from the penthouse. We specifically wanted a view of the fireworks from inside and did our due-diligence in reading reviews and researching. We even spoke to staff prior to booking and were assured we would be able to see the fireworks from the top floor from a staff member before planning our day out. Regrettably they we did not have a view of the fireworks, and the children were devastated after the LONG travel to Ottawa. After a call to the front desk asking if they would unlock the “panorama” room in the penthouse (which was just locked and didn’t have any events that evening) the front desk employee very condescendingly said they “couldn’t” which the group of us up there did not understand. And left many children and other travellers very upset as the fireworks show had already started and there was nothing us viewers could do at that point to see the fireworks from any street/angle at all before they finished - trust me, we tried! Took the elevator down, ran into the street with my 8-year old, and still missed them all.
Over a thousand dollars spent at the Delta will not get you the best of the best.
Because we booked a suite and had access to their “club lounge” we tried to recoup some of the wasted cost of the trip in food, snacks and coffee… for the epic flop of fireworks display.
Also:
No air vent in bathroom for shower steam or stinky poops.
No freezer in mini-fridge
