Great hotel. Had an amazing stay. Location was fab and staff were wonderful. Thank you!
We stayed at the Azumi for one night. After a dreary day of cycling, we were looking forward to some pampering. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room was gorgeous - large and serene with nice appointments like a shoe dryer for wet days (genius!). The food at the on-site restaurant is very good.
My daughter and I traveled to Japan for two weeks and stayed here in the middle of a 70K Shimanami Bike trip. I wish so much we'd booked an additional night. Of the seven hotels/ryokans we stayed during our trip, this was heads above all the others. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious and the ryokan was quite peaceful. The staff was wonderful- helpful and attentive. If I'm ever lucky enough to return to Japan and visit this area again, I'll return to this lovely property.
Just the most incredible experience we've ever had in a hotel. So much more that just a hotel, it's a whole Japanese luxury experience. Every member of staff was just incredible - friendly, efficient and really made the experience from the moment we stepped off the dock on the island because they met us there. The rooms are stunning - the pictures don't do them justice. The gardens are beautiful throughout the hotel - they feel very traditionally Japanese. The bathhouse is also stunning, I would recommend trying it even if you never have before! The dinner was incredible, their chef is extremely talented. The breakfast is perfect, a very traditional Japanese breakfast or a choice of a very good western breakfast if you don't fancy it. They managed to book us everything we wanted to do, from hiring bikes to organising a SUP tour. The island itself is so relaxing, a very different pace to busy Japanese cities. And the scenery around the islands is like nothing else, completely stunning. This was the hotel we planned our honeymoon around and I am so glad we did.
