"The Yunomori onsen ryokan was one of the best places I've ever stayed at. The Kaiseki breakfast and dinner was incredible and the staff were 10/10 amazing. We had an in-room onsen and it was perfect. The entire place was clean and incredibly cozy. I would absolutely recommend Yunomori to anybody! It's a short walk to Yuno Lake nearby and also some beautiful waterfalls. I highly recommend this place to stay in Nikko. It was a very special experience for us. "

"Everything about the accommodation was excellent, especially the staff! Despite the communication struggles, they were very helpful and provided great service during my stay. The free shuttle service to the ski resort was also extremely useful as they would drive you to your desired resort and pick you up at your specified time. Hotel is a bit dated and the dining/restaurant availability was a bit confusing (they gave us coffee tickets but it never seemed to be an option as it wasn’t staffed or offered in the lobby, and when we went to the restaurant they ushered us out the back door of the hotel which made us chuckle and go find somewhere else to eat). We stayed 2 nights in the room with the private onsen which offered great views. Would recommend this hotel, it just could use some...

Location is right on the lake and near the local attractions. Room and package description could have been clearer, as well as more clarity on check-in time restrictions. Despite trying to contact the property well in advance of my stay - I only heard back from them on the day of arrival. Better communication...
