It suited us just fine for what we wanted - a quiet base to visit family nearby. Staff so friendly without being intrusive; food beautifully cooked and presented; bedroom well appointed with a roomy bathroom; everything spotless; value for money. Will definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.
Charming Jacobean manor house, filled with history and fabulous gardens. Dog friendly, and all staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly in every aspect of our stay. Food was excellent too. Definitely going to return and highly recommend it.
Such a wonderful hotel. Beautiful surroundings and gardens, staff that couldn’t do enough, dog friendly and welcoming; the best place for a luxurious quiet few days. The room was spacious and stunning and I can’t wait to go back.
Beautiful Manor House in stunning grounds. The hotel was clean and warm with log fires in main rooms. Breakfast was excellent. Welcoming staff. Our second stay and already looking forward to the next!
We had a wonderful peaceful two nights at Lewtrenchard Manor whilst visiting relatives nearby. We loved the history, beautiful gardens and spacious, spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and plentiful with helpful, cheerful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope one day to visit again.

Will stay again.
Lovely hotel and staff. Very well looked after, miring coffee to my room. Not many hotels provide this level of service. Spotless and faultless staff.
This is a wonderful hotel. Am absolutely beautiful building run by thoroughly professional staff.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet break in a beautiful location.
We had an enjoyable weekend at Lewtrenchard Manor. The hotel is set in the stunning West Devon countryside. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food delicious. We would happily stay again.
If you want ro play- Lord/Lady of the cou try Manor... then this is your place. Grounds and building are beautiful. The fire places, paintings and endless amounts very old furnishings are incredible. The breakfast is of a very high quality and tasts great. Yes, I'd love to stay again.
You get what you pay for ….old, creaky but with some character. Food good but overpriced. Major downside is the total absence of mobile phone coverage within the hotel…the wifi is just ok.
Lovely setting and beautiful historic building. Reception staff on arrival were very helpful. Rooms were clean, tastefully furnished, each with a theme, and very spacious with tea and coffee making facilities but no fridge / mini bar, albeit milk was fresh and provided in a thermos which was much nicer than cartons of longlife. Dairy free also available. TV offered freeview but signal was erratic. No mobile signal at all but free wifi available. Some challenging lanes on the drive to the Manor house but worth it. Breakfast offered lovely food, cooked to order, however this does take some time so don't be in a rush! Buffet offerings were not replenished without asking. No lift due to the age and nature of the building. My mum's room was on the 2nd floor as we needed a walk in shower (many rooms only have shower over the bath) and that was quite a climb for her after a long day out. There is a stairlift for the first flight if needed and staff will help carry luggage. Bar menu reasonably priced, dinner menu is set on the day and very expensive although I believe the food is excellent. Overall a lovely experience.
Beautiful building and grounds - feels very much like staying in a national trust property. We had the tasting menu for dinner which was absolutely fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Only down side was that the room was very warm when we arrived and despite leaving the window open it was difficult to sleep at first. However, I understand maintaining the temperature in such a large granite building must be tricky.
Overall a wonderful stay and we would love to go back.
Overnight stay with friends to celebrate 2 birthdays. Stunning hotel, fabulous service and excellent food. Will definitely be using and recommending again.
Excellent hotel with excellent staff, nothing was to much for them to do to achieve an amazing stay.
Like staying in a National Trust house but being able to use all the furnishings. Steeped in history it is well worth a stay.
It was an absolute delight to stay in this historic house. We loved so much about this hotel. The staff were fantastic, the food was amazing and the house and grounds just generally felt steeped in history. Amazing place. We will definitely be back.
Silence and darkness in a fascinating building set in an exceptional setting, whatmore can one ask for. Second visit in as many months speaks for itself
