Wonderful atmosphere, very ornate and lots of historic information. The decor was over the top, Christmas everywhere, even a decorated tree in our room. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Nice to have a full kitchen at our disposal. All the amenities we could ever need. Owners were welcoming and made the visit special.

The room is a suite. Living room with sofa, loveseat and chair. Huge, with Christmas tree, rocker... Antiques everywhere. I am in the FDR room. Excellent and highly recommended. AAAA++++

What a fabulous stay! The Sherman Inn was absolutely incredible - huge room (complete with Netflix on the TV), wonderful hosts, amazing breakfast, and the entire space so tastefully and historically maintained. We are now spoiled for all other hotels. Stay here - you'll love it!

The location is perfect - within walking distance to restaurants and all the attractions the town has to offer. The staff was very cordial. The room was very spacious and quiet with a nice, comfy bed. The breakfast was great with a variety of fresh berries. Overall, it's a very relaxing, charming, super clean, and well-maintained inn. I'll definitely stay there again.

The most unique B&B we’ve ever stayed at. It is a former elementary school. Common areas were charming. Our room was HUGE and we loved it. Cozy sitting area with fully decorated Christmas tree. The bed was so comfortable. Lovely robes in bathroom. Owners Jim and Donna were so welcoming. You can tell they take great pride in the property. We had an awesome breakfast in main dining room and Jim gave us a tour and history lesson on the building and area. Highly recommend. Would stay again! Jen and Steve

The Sherman is a very unique place with spacious rooms and lots to enjoy for a history buff. The host was very welcoming and gave a tour of the common areas. My only negative is about the breakfast time of 8:30 which by that time we were 1.5 hours into our drive and sadly missed it.

Style and charm

Cute little place with enormous rooms all of which are decorated in home style. This would be the perfect place if you wanted to get away to pursue some personal project in a calm environment. Very good breakfast too. You can even cook your own lunch or dinner if you want to.

A place so nice I stayed there twice- my departing flight was cancelled so spent an additional night- hots were excellent very accommodating even picked up a drop off from airport (breakfast included was always great)

Love this place

This is the neatest place to stay in the area. The beds are so comfortable, and the towels are the softest I have ever encountered. The breakfast and tea were amazing. Wow! Just wow! Book your stay here. It is so cool!

This is a converted school so it's a unique experience. I loved it! The rooms are enormous, there is a pool, the owners are lovely, and the bed was hands down the MOST comfortable bed I've ever been in.

How to learn more about United States History.

Wonderfull place .... if you like United States History this is a place to stay ... it's like to stay in a museum... my next stay will be longer just for ready some books from incredible library !

My fiancé and I had an amazing stay at the Sherman Inn. The room was spacious, and the blankets and robes were incredibly soft and luxurious. Breakfast was absolutely delicious—fresh, hearty, and clearly made with love. Donna and her husband were such warm, welcoming hosts. The inn itself is full of charm and history, making our stay feel extra special. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, hospitality, and a touch of local character!

The Sherman's Inn is very historic and Jim and his wife were very warm and hospitable to all of us. We enjoyed the room, the company and the wonderful breakfast we had. It's THE place to stay when you're in Ogsdenburg or anywhere in the area.
