Nice, small hotel with a friendly staff. Excellent location. Away from the bustle of downtown, yet a short walk to the center. Would definitely go back.+
Staff is very helpful. Hotel provides group or individual transportation to any tour destination at reasonable prices.
Hotel is clean and quiet considering it is very well situated. Close to most areas to visit in town as well as places to eat including restaurant in hotel for breakfast or early lunch.

Good beds
Hotel location was not far from square, great coffee and breakfast at Rustico restaurant very close to thr hotel, also awesome pizza. More noise than we like
Very helpful staff, great location. Convenient restaurant on premises and an excellent coffee shop across the street. Bed is hard, and it gets noisy at 7:00 a.m. when the kitchen staff starts talking loudly in the courtyard and the sound echoes off all the tile floors and walls. (Maybe the upper floor would be quieter.)
Located at the edge of the historic center of Oaxaca yet still at a walkable distant, it’s a great place for staying. The facilities are not new but clean, classic and suit with the overall scene. Btw, great beds.
It was situated in the middle of downtown, which made it easier to find places. Wasn’t happy of the parking situation, as it’s few blocks down from the hotel and very the parking spots are narrow. However, there’s plenty of public and taxis available. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
We found this hotel at the last minute. The staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating. They all were very kind, helpful, patient and cheerful. We love our stay at Casa Las Mercedes. Thank you.
Location is good - walking distance to main street and feels safe walking back at night. It has associated parking (not on premise though), but that is a huge benefit.
Do not not all rooms have windows for fresh air (some are facing the lobby). Nice place and would consider re-booking
Pros
-Close but not too close to Zocalo
-Our room (205) was quiet and well appointed, comfortable bed
-Nice courtyard good for breakfast, excellent coffee
-Very responsive and accommodating staff
-Reasonable rates
Cons
-Key card had to be swiped up to six times to unlock door
-No windows (so no natural ventilation)
-Air conditioner VERY noisy
-Bathroom plumbing leaked everywhere and lighting too dim
-Laundry service took 24 hours more than promised
Staff is extremely helpful, my room 103 was clean and had high ceilings and spacious bathroom. Worth noting the parking lot is not onsite but a few blocks away. With that said, the staff is always available to walk you there and go with you to pick up or drop off the car. The staff also always left a new free water bottle in the room. Enjoyed the stay despite no windows in my room
Our plans changed and we needed to depart a few days early. As stated in Expedia and on the hotelʻs website no refunds/returns are provided. Lesson learned Iʻll be careful to review such policies in future bookings. Noise. Street noise was surprisingly minimal. But at 11:36 pm during my stay I told the desk clerk it was hard to sleep with his radio or podcast playing. He turned it down but not off…used it on subsequent nights too. Hotel/kitchen staff seemingly arrive around 0700 each morning. They converse and soon after the restaurant opens making it difficult to sleep any later. Restaurant food/service was ok on our first morning but we elected to eat elsewhere the following days. Was a convenient location. Room was clean and comfortable. Everything worked.
My bus arrived in Oaxaca after midnight and this hotel doesnʻt allow checkins after that time so I had stayed in another hotel my first night. Then transferred to this one. If returning to Oaxaca Iʻd choose the other hotel over this one.

The hotels entrance and patio are the only attractive parts of this property. The rooms had no windows or fresh airflow. They were musky and damp until the A/C was turned on. The beds were rundown and only dressed with a fitted sheets and a comforter. Pillows were thin and uncomfortable. We used t-shirts on them as they did not look clean. The towels were old and shabby, we reported a broken toilet lid and clogged sink and was never fixed for the full stay, housekeeping was limited to only a wipe down and turndown service. Dirty mugs were in one room on day 1.
Of the 4 rooms each had individual issues with water pressure and water temperature. The food at the restaurant had very a limited menu and not worth it. The roof deck was never open or offered an explanation of it being locked. Management did very little to make us feel welcome as opposed to the staff who were more interactive and pleasant.
The staff were really pleasant and the rooms were beautiful. The rooftop bar was fabulous and Ernesto made incredible drinks from fresh juices and his family’s local mezcal. He was the best bartender and the setting was really lovely.
Lovely hotel, great staff, and no distance from anywhere in Centro on foot. Comfy bed, good shower, and daily room service. Roof terrace with good views to the northern hills and nearby buildings.
