The room was very clean and quiet despite the busyness outside. The building is beautiful and well decorated. The front reception staff were very helpful and supportive. The room has beautiful walls.

Room stayed cool. Other than the water was lightly warm for showering, it was an enjoyable stay. Staff was super nice and I felt completely safe. Would definitely stay here again.

Very quiet, you can't hear the city noise. Everything is within walking distance. Easy access and exit. I don't know if they have a restaurant, but it's not necessary; there are many places to eat within walking distance.

My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Posada Don Matias for 4 nights. The cleaning staff was lovely and cleaned and tidied our room every day. The front desk staff was accommodating and helpful and provided us extra blankets and pillows without a problem and also booked our taxis to the airport. The other guests seemed to be other family groups. We found the area of the hotel exceptional with tonnes of food stalls, local shops and markets. It was a bit of a jaunt to get to the touristy areas, but that suited us. The only reason for the four stars is the shower grout needs a good scrub. Awesome spot!

Location was great. The hotel layout has an apartment building feel which I liked. It's a bit dated, but nothing falling apart. Great for the price. I would stay here again

While this is a simple hotel, it is clean and has character. What more could you want when staying in Oaxaca? We are a family of 5 and the thing we liked best about this hotel is that they had rooms that had beds for everyone and we did not have to split up into 2 rooms. We definitely would stay here again.

Staff was very helpful and nice. Accommodations were made to have luggage left before our check-in was available & it helped a lot. The hotel is very close to the 20 de Noviembre food market, and the Zocalo (5 mins). I recommend upgrading to a room with AC, as even during Sep/ Oct, it gets hot.

Very polite, attentive and helpful staff. A heads up, while this place is just a few blocks away from the zocalo and all the main attractions of the centro, there is a noise problem. Be prepared for the usual noises of city life. Ear plugs might help.

I had a great stay here! The room was simple but had everything I needed. The air conditioning worked amazingly. The room was clean upon arrival and smelled fresh. Staff was friendly and attentive. The house keepers mopped and changed sheets and towels daily. Even provided additional shampoo and soaps daily when needed without being asked. The fresh water dispenser in the lobby was much appreciated. Providing clean hot and cold water. Great location, 1 block away from 2 huge markets and a 5 min walk to the main square. Such a great value for the price. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice Hotel, small but comfortable, staff is nice and helpful but no extra amenities, I suggest at least a communal dining room, a microwave a mini fridge or something. They didn’t have a iron or a blow dryer. I didn’t like the scheduled hot water. I tried using the hot water during the times suggested and we still didn’t have hot water.

Best part is the location. Really close to main attractions, restaurants and shopping. Rooms are very small and basic. Staff is good. No air conditioning. The rooms are clean. This a good hotel if you just need a place to sleep. I felt safe walking to hotel at night.

Traveling as a family of 5 with 2 kids under 10 and 2 elderly parents can be though. We stayed here one night in between flights and for the room last minute. The front desk answered all my parents questions with ease and we got oh room without any issues. Our room was on the second floor, be aware there are no elevators! The room was super spacious and had a working ac system. The location is ideal for walking around. Will definitely be booking with the hotel again in the future
