We booked this property specifically because it offered “parking included” but when we checked in three months later that had been switched to parking available. I guess it’s time to start taking screenshots! The hotel is nice but the neighborhood is NOT, and they want $50 to park in a completely unsecured lot in what appears to be a high crime area. Do yourself a favor a book the Marriott 2 blocks away. Parking is still $50 but it includes in & out privileges and is in a secure parking garage.

One of the best Hampton Inns I’ve ever stayed in. Room and lounge was so clean and I enjoyed their complimentary hotel shampoo, bodywash, and lotion. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were attentive and friendly. I felt very taken care of. I wish there was a pool but this is probably a hotel more for business and not families so not their fault. Stay if you’re in town!

Parkin was 50.00 because the area is not safe to park your car and your extra fees are to much after you advertise at low rate Expedia you have screwed me Twice thanks for screwing my night up for my trip

We are very sorry that you feel the higher cost of the parking. Due to our downtown location in a city, open street parking is very limited. However we do still recommend using our Valet as to parking on the street. There is street cleaning nightly at around 3am, and the Municipal do give out ticket for the violation, which cost more than the overnight parking fee. The public and hotel garages charges range from 45 - 65 in the neighborhood.

We were aboard Amtrak when they announced the train would be annulled in Oakland. I searched on my phone and found this facility not far from the station, and was happy to see what a nice place it is. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, the hotel is fairly new and in excellent shape and very clean. There is no in-hotel restaurant, but a breakfast buffet is available and the hotel is located 300 feet from Chinatown with a multitude of nearby Chinese restaurants plus a couple sandwich shops in the same block. The Marriott is 1 1/2 blocks away with excellent suppers. This is a great facility located in a typical downtown big-city environment.

Great Hotel
This is a new hotel downtown Oakland. Although the area is kind of sketchy, I felt safe in the hotel. The room was small but very comfortable. Breakfast was OK. The ladies at the reception and breakfast area are really nice. I will stay here again.

I like that it was easy to find and staff was genuinely friendly. I was concerned about the street crimes in the area and my party was very hesitant when standing outside. I was also concerned that valet was the "Recommended" amenity as opposed to street parking, and valet was not offered 24 hours. All in all, i enjoyed my stay.

Great hotel but not a great location
The hotel itself was great - clean, wonderful staff, solid breakfast. Parking was $50 a night which was more than I would have expected. Unfortunately, I would not stay there again because of the location. On Friday night at 1:45 we awoke to the sound of about 20 gunshots at the club on the corner of the same block. On Saturday night when that club closed at 2am there was a lot of noise. I would not have felt safe walking around at night, and even during the day it wasn't great.
